Week 11 (Rams) Link Dump
With the various threads open, I figured I'd open up a link dump to keep the discussion of "lesser" topics a little more contained (considering we have about two or three active threads/discussions on Alex Smith).
The only link I have is to an ESPN article that says the Colt's star DE Dwight Freeney has been placed on IR and is done for the season. The Colts are hurting bad right now, and while I don't want people hurt/harmed, this may bode a little better for the 49ers.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

What??
I (and some others, I'm sure) have adopted the Colts while the Niners figure out how to put on their uniforms, only because they are the only hope to bringing down the high falutin' Pats this year. I can't think of anything sweeter than seeing an undefeated Pats team go down in the championship at home, no less...
So this doesn't bode well for me, and especially not for the two-and-soon-to-be-niners.
C'mon Colts, get it together! Niners... try and have some fun out there guys, huh? Pizza parties and trophies for everyone at the end of the season!
That's funny.
I know it sounds kind of weird, as the Patriots have been made out to be the "Evil Empire." That's who I'd root for though. Funny thing is, I've always been a big Darth Vader fan as well. Though, I don't know if this necessarily has any tie in with what I just said.
Back to my point. The 49ers hold the Colts' first rounder. The worse the Colts do, the higher (or lower, depending on how you look at the draft) their pick will be. If the Colts continue to lose (which is VERY unlikely, anyway), the 49ers will be looking at a mid-20s pick, rather than a 30th pick. I'd take those few extra steps up any day.

I'm a big underdog guy, and this whole pats/ colts thing has got me going nuts. How the defending SuperBowl Champs are underdogs, I can't get my head around. And a far as the bad guys, look, I love the Raiders as much as the next guy.
But I see Belichick as a sleazy kind of bad, like the kid who cried foul in grade school until he won... I always wanted a piece of that kid, and now that Belichick is not only the smarmy a-hole I love to hate but ALSO the top pick, of course I want to see him go down.
After rooting for the Cowboys earlier this season, I'm capable of stooping to anything.

Belichick.
While I'm sure the book is sort of big fluff piece on Belichick, is it really considered fluff if it's pretty true? Reading about how he approached his various jobs leading up to the one he's in now, and why he did certain things where, why the system he has going now is in place, is very insightful.
Everything I've ever read about Walsh is amazing. And while I'm not saying Belichick is Bill Walsh, he's somewhere nearby in terms of overall coaching ability.
Always a good link

Everybody get ready to spark one up to welcome Ricky back in week 12, if the Dolphins will have him:
