Football Outsider Interview

So I've been working on getting an interview with Doug Farrar over at Football Outsiders.  Doug covers the NFC West for the Outsiders and actually runs Seahawks.net (a part of the Scout.com network).

So I'm putting together some questions to email him in the next day or two and I wanted to open up the floor to any questions you guys might have about the 49ers or the NFC West in general.

Post them here and I'll pass them along to Doug.

I got a question
what do the seahawks know about D-Jax that we don't, and is it the reason they were willing to trade a #1 receiver to a division rival for a bottle of gatorade and bag of footballs?
Bring back the classic Uni's!

Division Rival
is the only questionable part of this trade.  The going rate for DJax was "a bottle of gatorade and a bag of footballs" and they needed to move him.  They might just not be worried about the Niners pushing them.

Who's Hawks Red-Zone Option?
Since D-Jax and Jeremy Stevens are both gone, who are they throwing to in the red-zone?  Who gives them the fade option?

Burleson
I know it may be kind of a stretch, but I think the Seahawks are hoping he fills in for Jackson.  Size and skillset-wise, they're fairly similar.  They didn't sign him to that big contract for no reason.

Burleson and/or Hackett
I think they're probably pretty high on Hackett.  Even without Jackson they've still got a pretty solid recieving core.

With the money they gave Burleson and they price they paid for Branch and with Engram and Hackett on the roster the Hawks needed to move DJax.  Was it a mistake to do it to a division rival probably.

A few Q's
  1. How worried should the Seahawks (and their fans) be about Alexander's heaslth.  Is his foot a serious concern?  Even if it isn't, should the Seahawks (and their fans) be worried about the "lack" of depth they have at that position?  Are the Seahawks looking to limit Alexander's load this year, or at least reduce it?
  2. What's the deal with Burleson?  At the time of his signing, the figures looked a little too big.  His performance last season kind of reinforced that thought.  Was it a poorly-calculated risk?  Or do you see him being able to contribute (as a starter) this season?
  3. How would you size up the NFC West?  A lot of people, as usual, are pumping up the Cardinals.  Do you see them finally fulfilling on all of the hype?  Do you think the Seahawks are strong enough on the whole to fend off three other potentially equally-competitive teams?
  4. Should the Seahawks (or their fans) be worried about their QB situation?  Has Matt Hasselbeck's injury woes been put behind him?  Or is he going to continually have health/availability issues going forward?  Should the team (or fans) be worried that Wallace is the #1 backup?

Question.
The Seahawks won the NFC West again last year, but lost both games against the 49ers. How do you think Seattle felt/feels about those two games? Do you think they feel like they lost those games more then the Niners won them or do they think that the 49ers could challenge them in the West this season? (Most recently, it has been the Rams/Seahawks games that have determined who has won the division)
