Donovan Darius?

Donovan has always been a solid player in the NFL, and a top notch safety and could help our defense a ton. I dont really know much of the salary stuff and how much he would cost, but as far as i know we have 3 safetys on our roster, Lewis, Roman and Lewis. I thought he was a top notch safety but we did just throw money at Lewis so it could be tough to fit him in. Just curious to see what you guys think.

It'd be a nice luxury to have him, but I would think there are other teams that can guarantee him a starting spot. While he could compete for the starting strong safety job, I think the team would prefer it go to Michael Lewis.

Great point.

I agree with Fooch's point. The team, theoretically, has two starting strong safeties as it stands (and possibly three if you think Roman is better suited there than FS). The team could possibly benefit from another one on the roster, but it's a "luxury" as Fooch points out.

Darius has been a pretty consistent player throughout his career. I wonder how his ankle is really healing, and how far he is from playing.
