Madden Draft

Well i was really bored today so i thought it would be kinda fun to sim a season for the niners in madden 08 (my 360 came back yesterday) and just try to make a beastly team, so heres how it went for the first four rounds, anyone who wants to post theirs feel free, just to see what people think they should do next year

1st round, 19th pick: L. Jackson, DE USC
2nd round: Heffney, Tennessee
3rd round: that WR out of Oklahoma St
4th Round: Justin Forsett, Cal

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Draft classes.
Are draft classes always the same?  I thought they were randomly generated after each season.

if you have ncaa
if u have ncaa 08 as well, and have the rosters (internet FTW) then you can import them into madden and use real players

quite nifty

Ah
I forgot about that feature.  I haven't played NCAA since '02 or '03.

I've seen Forsett Run
every season he's been at Cal, and pretty much all he's ever had is speed. He's always been a pretty easy tackle if he got squared up correctly by any defender (he's what I call a "fall-downer").

Supposedly, he redoubled his training and his philosophy coming into this season to prepare himself to be the starter and to take more regular inside runs, put on some weight, and is ready to be aserious force... but until I see it he will definitely need a legit complementary back to get the most of him against better defenses.

I have high hopes, but tempered expectations (the plight of being a Cal fan...)(<-- weird how you can use that format with "insert team here" and most people will usually accept it).

That said, I think the fourth round probably wouldn't be a stretch for Justin. You can probably use him on returns because of his speed and he has the breakaway speed that Gore lacks to change pace. Can't have too many guys competing for that backup spot to protect the man, too.

I approve of your fourth round, though I wouldn't be surprised if he's nothing more than a pair of fast legs in the long run. (<-- surprisingly apt unintentional turn of phrase)

Go Bears!

I keep reliving the moment when Steve Young almost fell down... over and over...
