Don't underestimate Niners at home vs Pats
Hello Niner Nation,
We're just getting our feet wet here on SBNation, but wanted to give you our take on San Francisco hosting New England this weekend.
NE @ SF
Our Line: San Francisco by 5
In our review of this week's rankings, we talked about how the bye week should have benefited New England by giving them time to figure out how to get their offense jump started. There is no need to jump start the San Francisco offense, which would be firing on all cylinders if not for some costly turnovers, specifically fumbling the football. We remember how Miami ran all over New England two weeks ago, and so does our system. Regardless of whether or not New England's offense improves, we think that playing at home the San Francisco offense will have an answer when needed and keep their team in front on the scoreboard, even if the game becomes a shootout.
ITN Rankings:
- New England #10
- San Francisco #20
Another Niner Nation poster picked SF to win but said "don't bet on it!" We actually think this is a very solid bet to make given the odds SF is getting.

offensive line and sacks
You make no mention of the biggest problem on offense, protecting JT O’Sullivan. He’s on pace for a record-tying number of sacks. I think Belichick will be game-planning to keep up the pressure. I think the 49ers can win but not sure I’d favor them given Belichick’s game planning abilities.

Very true
One cannot underestimate the capabilities of Belichick to prepare a team. We were sort of implying the need to protect O’sullivan when we mentioned the fumbles, since he is the main source of them.
We also think San Francisco is going to try and take advantage of all that pressure by running the football more. They average 4.7 yards per carry which is tied for 8th in the league. All of the teams in the top ten in yards per carry have rushed the ball more often than the 49ers, except for the Giants, who have only played 3 games.
New England gives up 5.0 yards per carry right now, and 141 yards per game, so it makes sense to attack with the run against them. They also only have 6 sacks on the year, so even with what Belichick musters up we don’t think they are going to overwhelm the Niner line, at least not without exposing themselves to some dangerous play action run plays.

I do want to thank you for posting this without a link initially, instead of just trying to draw attention to your site. Feel free to include a link to your site in future posts. Of course if the 49ers get blown out please never visit again! just kidding…

We appreciate that...
Although we’re here to advertise our site some, it’s more about engaging in some good sports talk with dedicated fans, something that can surprisingly difficult to find on the net.
Although this does bring up a question (or poll) we will have to ask on our next post. How does the Niner Nation feel about us posting our prediction/blasphemy when we’re picking the other guys to win?

Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com. It's not being updated right now. Hope for more at your own risk.

In the “Pick six games this week” game, he calls out any poster who picks against the Niners.

picking other team
You’ll certainly get some crap from the fans (as should be expected). However, if you have sufficient info to back up your prediction that’s certainly fine. I may predict the 49ers will win every game, but as much as I might like to think otherwise, I realize they probably won’t win every one of them.

Personally, the fact that you’re engaging in the community and being at least somewhat involved in the thread before directing a single person to your website pretty much ends any hard feelings I was likely to have. So, from my standpoint, as long as you’re interested in the community here, you’re cool to post whatever you feel is accurate.
