Gotta Love that J.J. Stokes...

Just confirms what a wonderful teammate and top-notch competitor he was. Haven't heard his sports talk show in Modesto, yet. I'm sure he'll complain about too many traffic reports, weather checks and phone calls cutting into his uber-talented talk time. Maybe he ought to suit up for the Stockton Lightning and prove to the world once and for all it wasn't his fault. Sheez!

he was a decent possesion guy.
That is the exact opposite of how I remember him. I remember lots of drops.
Lots.

Exactly.
He had the build of a possession guy but the hands of the tin man.
He was like if you took TO and got rid of the good speed, the ridiculous strength, the neverending motor, the separation, the…
Shoot, let me simplify this. He was just like TO’s hands.

T.O. has lots of drops too
I say he was a decent possesion guy because he was slow and didn’t break tackles. He was DECENT. Not good. Not great. A bust to the fullest.

How...
… are you a possession guy if you don’t have possession? He had the tools, sure, but that doesn’t make him decent.
Does it need an argument?
He sucked! Never said he was good

Plain and simple...
He sucked! I’m glad Romanowski spat on him. That piece of flem was from all the fans.
Joe and Steve were under the same system for years... don't expect Smith to be super so soon.
No. Romo spitting on him was a disgusting act from a disgusting man.

Jeral Jamal was a great Bruin (but not such a great 49er). I’ll have to check the show out next time I go home to Modesto.

My dad mentioned it a time or two. It causes much laughter.
Hey, anyone got a favorite JJ Stokes story? Because I do! I was at a Giants Opening Day game with my brothers and dad. We look over in the bleachers, and there’s this dude standing there, with his arms defiantly crossed, standing up staring out at the field. Who was this dude? No idea. But he was wearing a lovely JJ Stokes replica jersey. Hilarious! And yes, I do believe the Opening Day game was 2007. But that’s not all, no the story has not yet ended. A month or so later, I’m walking by the stadium before a game, and crossing the 3rd Street bridge. As I walk along, I looked over and saw that same dude from Opening Day standing there wearing… A JJ Stokes replica jersey! It was the greatest thing I’d ever seen! I mean, who on earth wears a Stokes jersey anymore???

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
There were so many things wrong with it
and that was the beauty of the whole thing! He wore a Stokes jersey, which is bad enough. He also wore it about 5 or so years after it was determined Stokes sucked. He also wore it to a Giants game! I mean… What the hell?

Well, JJ at least loves himself. So that’s something.

“Let’s face it – they didn’t throw the ball to me as much as they should have. You can look at the tapes and see how open I was.”
It’s really funny he’d say this, because there was talk around the team when he played that he had a secret nickname among teammates: “Car pool” — because he always had a DB with him.
Check out The Examined Life. Or don't. Whatever.
