49ers-Patriots Post-Game Thread
As I mentioned in the game thread, I'm actually attending today's game. I don't get to very many games at the Stick due to cost and the fact that I really enjoy football on tv. However, my dad's a big Patriots fan and wanted to get down for the game. Hopefully he'll leave SF rather disappointed by the game.
I'll be back with a recap when I get home from the Stick, but in the meantime, feel free to use this thread for post-game chatter.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Yea, it's the Pats, not the Saints. Just got back from the game and will have a recap up soon. Thanks for the heads-up SSreporters.
GO NINERS!

But what is your opinion on JT O’Sullivan? I know he shredded us 3 weeks ago, but is the honeymoon over?
I watched the game here in Seattle and it really looked like he played awful after the first quarter, making poor decisions, the one positive though is he is a good scrambler, and that’s nice.
And to me Frank Gore, a great talent, was severely under used. Also, what happened to Vernon Davis?
And while the 49ers have a very tough stretch the next few weeks, you could be Seattle (although I’m sure you would rather have the offensively impotent Tampa Bay and Green Bay) . ;-)
Take care, I’ll be joining you in our next game against you guys, as I’m trying to participate in the opponent’s game thread every week for the rest of the season.

I’m beginning to think that he isn’t going to be able to adjust and stop throwing interceptions by forcing the ball.

Vernon Davis obviously can’t catch. He had one ball thrown his way which was very catchable and he dropped it. It’s a wonder he doesn’t get anything thrown to him. The only thing I saw from him was a really good block on that Frank Gord TD reception. He is skirting on the edge of bust for me.

Honeymoon is over
I’m seriously tired of Just TurnOvers.
I won’t blame him for this loss solely, but he’s just not a good QB.

I actually think O'Sullivan's okay.
Not great. He’s an improvement over Smith. Partly, it’s a better offensive scheme. The problem is that the O line is still subpar and, as usual, the receivers aren’t getting much separation.
But three TDs in one game wasn’t so bad for 20 minutes of work. The Niners were forced to give up on the running game precisely because they didn’t have the ball for most of the game. JTO would look a lot better if he were ten points ahead and handing off to Gore in the second half. The major problems are on the defense, both a lack of pressure and lack of D line talent. And an inability to actually make adjustments during the game. This was the Arizona game all over again.
Fire Nolan, make Martz the interim coach. If it works, great. If not, then move along.

I say make Singletary interim coach…if we are gonna dump our coach mid season, why not give someone like Singletary a chance to see what he’s got.

By golly, I really think it's time.
I agree with Singletary as an interim coach and possibly next years head coach. Just pay Martz enough to keep him here and the offense will be happy next year with something to build on. I believe it’s time for a change considering Nolans ongoing consistency with his lack of adjustments, aggression, management and leadership. We haven’t had a positive identity since he took over. We have issues just like every other team in the league, it just seems as though Nolan needs 10 years to fix them whereas other teams do it in 3. Is Nolan afraid to win!?!

no no no
This is all JTO. He throws way too many interceptions. And they aren’t the kind of interceptions that we can sluff off. More than half of the picks that he has thrown have directly cost us the game.
I know I may sound crazy here, but we could be undefeated if it weren’t for all the picks.
I think I pulled my swagger muscle...
