Alright folks, the proverbial buck stops here. If the 49ers lose, the race for a top 10 draft pick is on. If the 49ers win, we live to fight another day. Mike Singletary has had two weeks to rally the troops and figure out a game plan for tonight. I was certainly curious about the Seahawks game two weeks ago, but this game has me all the more intrigued.
Unfortunately I have class tonight so the TiVo is set. I'll be watching the game later tonight but am scheduling a second half post and a post-game post until I get a chance to watch the game and post my thoughts. The second half thread is scheduled to open at 7:15pm pacific time/10:15pm eastern time. The postgame thread is scheduled to open at 9pm pacific/midnight eastern. Here's hoping for some good things.
GO NINERS!

That just makes me want an upset that much more.

Pregame reminds me of two things:
1. Monday Night Football ESPN commercials are awesome.
2. Emmit Smith is the worst football analyst in the history of television.
Also, Justin Smith was saying before the game that if we don’t get consistent pressure on Warner, then we’ll lose. So…he thinks we’ll lose?

by Exhibit G on Nov 10, 2008 6:11 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
I don't think they can overturn it because the ground caused the fumble. he stepped out and his knee hit before the ball came out
by renke81 on Nov 10, 2008 6:12 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
It's not an overturning though
It was called incomplete. There must be indisputable evidence to overturn the call

Never forget: I am a complete idiot
by Exhibit G on Nov 10, 2008 6:12 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
that's BS
he hit down out of bounds…slid…and then when his shoulder hits, he loses it…i mean, how much fucking control do you have to demonstrate out of bounds? if you take 3 steps out of bounds and lose the bal when you crash into the gatorade table, it’s incomplete?
by Florida Danny on Nov 10, 2008 6:14 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs

once his foot touched out of bounds it should be a catch and the play is dead

his foot and his knee hit. even if he was in bounds they would have said that he was down by contact if his knee hits the ground
by renke81 on Nov 10, 2008 6:14 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
not if he was in the act of catching it
the rule says you have to maintain possession all the way to the ground, I disagree with the rule if you get two feet down, but that’s the rule

by wjackalope on Nov 10, 2008 6:15 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs

refs fucked over that challenge
they said he was out, which was the wrong call, but noone saw him not catch the ball- the ref made the wrong call- but singletary threw the flag before he watched the replay- which was dumb—on offense you have plenty of time to review it before you challenge—-dumb mistake just by being impatient

teams are banking on these 7 step drops...
both D-ends just run straight down the field, and get instant pressure – there’s no way an offensive tackle can get back that far, that fast to protect that big of a pocket.

Hill
I get frustrated by short passes on third and long, but they’re check-downs, and they’ve been completions. Completions at least give you a chance. And they aren’t turnovers, so we can punt and utilize field position. I’d say it’s an improvement so far.
