San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys Open Thread #2
The 49ers offense started out hot moving the ball with relative ease. Of course, they failed to punch the ball into the end zone and a TO TD and safety later finds the 49ers trailing 9-6. If you factored a safety into your prediction, way to go.
Let's get some momentum back 49ers!
GO NINERS!

Sorry Fooch
just puttin’ that out there. First gameday thread for me and I’m at someones throat

er...
that was meant to be a fresh post, in response to rossum’s collapse.
being at someone’s throat in a game thread isn’t a bad thing at all.
Feck, Rossum is hurt

So… special teams was supposed to be the key matchup, right?
And the 49ers were supposed to be the good special teams team, right?
My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.
I wasn’t trying to be critical of that. You obviously can’t help that aspect. It was still covered great by the Cowboys, and there is the blocked punt to consider. I’m not just talking about one play here.

key matchup
You are correct that this was something the 49ers had a distinct advantage in…Not helping the cause that they’re getting blown up on special teams

Oh crap
C’mon Allen don’t be hurt serious please!! I don’t care about that ball on the 1 we can pull it out but without Rossum….

Oi, this is not good.
That said, I actually like starting drives deep, because it’s a chance for a long, momentum-changing drive. Just get 3, boys.
p.s.

Aikman laugh?
Did anybody hear that chuckle from Aikman after Buck said the 49ers were starting at the 1?

In a related field....
I spent an hour watching the NFL network yesterday, and the “top 10 NFL comeback seasons” was on.
Just saying.
we've got to turn around this momentum build - it shouldn't last this long

It’s not that he ran that sucked. It’s that he ran to the same place they’ve gotten about 2 yards on the day.

Starting from the one
A tough place to drive from. It would have been nice to see a little bit more creativity with the playcalling though…

Even another safety,
who cares? Take a shot. Now you’re just basically giving them 3 points anyways. We need a turnover pretty bad here.

I just cheered because my team punted successfully. Hope… fading… defense… coming…

positives on offense
Aside from the TO touchdown the Cowboys haven’t done anything on offense….and that Folk FG I suppose…of course if the 49ers don’t score again it won’t really matter.

Rossum
According to Maiocco
—INJURY UPDATE: Allen Rossum has a right ankle sprain. His return is questionable. That might mean that Clements will be back returning punts for the rest of the game.

What's pissing me off
is this Dallas team really is not playing very well, it’s just a combination of the refs and some fucking stupid football that has them up by 6 and possibly more.
This
is why the niners are 3-7. Bad breaks, but STUPID football.

AS long as
the game goes their way, they can make it fair on the field. If we’re fortunate enough to see the 9ers lead, you’ll see them flip back to “Protect the NFL storyline” mode

49er 'til I die! (if they don't kill me first)
it’s pretty obvious to me there are times they are instructed to sit on their whistles, and times when they are instructed to call even illegal breathing. Unfortunately, it also happens to benefit teams that make the NFL quite a bit of cash money more often than not. I saw it last season with the Pats and I’ve seen it more than once against our ‘bad whether we like it or not’ 49ers.
And why are you being a little bitch about this, anyway? Either disagree with me or shut the fuck up.
49er 'til I die! (if they don't kill me first)

There’s no call for f-bombs in that case.

looks really bad but I'm not giving up
after what we did in the first quarter, I can feel it – victory today is right in our grasp. We have to take it, but it’s there for us to take.

i'm going to borrow some of that optimism

it was working in the first quarter. The cowgirls have a stout line and a shitty secondary, lets exploit it!!
Watching the Niners is like getting kicked in the Junk, that's why we wear a cup.
I think it's Mike Martz
Being a little bitch.
“Oh, you don’t like the Greatest Show offense? Here’s your running game. Call me when you want to win the Mike Martz Way.”
49er 'til I die! (if they don't kill me first)
West Coast Offense Please!
Mike Martz lived off of talent and never needed a redzone O. Obviouly, we see the continual failures this season of the 49ers in the Red as evidence of this. I couldn’t help but cringe when we needed few yards on 2 3rd downs. Quick slants and quicks outs, based on timing, will ALWAYS get it done. Get rid of martz, he’s lives off of talent and isn’t very good without it. And as we see clearly, had Hill been the starter all along, we might a decent record.
NEW THREAD
May not make a difference, but I’ve opened up a new thread. Let’s hope for a momentum change!
