Was Ahmad even given a chance to play? I'm not sure because here in Arizona, they've only shown a few 49ers games. 2 against the Cards, 1 against the Giants and another versus the Cowgirls. Anyway, a couple of years ago, the team thought of using it's supplemental draft to pick this guy up. Heard that he had plenty of potential and was very athletic. So, what happened? Was it bad coaching by the Bengals that led to a diminished potential and self-esteem?

He cleared waivers and will probably be resigned by the 49ers and be back on the 53-man for this Sunday. We’ll see. They needed the wide receiver with all the injuries and he was the easiest to clear off.

Thanks, Fooch. Hope he sticks. He could eventually move to ILB and move spikes to OLB.

I think that unless the 49ers switch to a 4-3, Spikes will stay as an ILB. At his age (and lack of pass rush skill), it makes little sense to move him outside where his talent would be mis-used.
