Trading Vernon Davis?
Now, first and foremost, i like vernon davis, he might be a antonio gates in a few years. But everytime i see this guy catch a ball, it seems like he fumbles or gets a stupid penalty that just puts us in a bad spot. I'd honestly consider trading VD for a a top caliber WR. We should conisder trading him to a team like maybe Cincinatti for either Chad Ocho Sinco or TJ Housh.... Unless this guy learns to control his emotions and hold onto the pigskin, we should look up to some trade offers. Who knows maybe him for Calvin or Andre Johnson. I hope he can get some serious training in the offseason on discipline and ball-security.

top caliber WR?
You really think somebody would give up guys like that for Vernon Davis? I think Davis could turn into a phenomenal player but even I’ll admit he hasn’t reached that level.
As for TJ Houshmanzadeh, he’s a free agent after this season so that certainly wouldn’t work.

VD
i dont think ocho sinco has a good deal in cincy, and the bengals do need help to block and need a “good” TE, who knows it could happen, but if we could trade VD for someone very good, heck i’d do it

No it couldn't happen, not even in your wet dreams
Who wouldn’t trade a 1st round bust for something very good? Nobody is going to give you a $1 Million for you dead christmas tree come New Years and nobody is going to give the Niners anything very good for Davis. He’s probably more valuable to the Niners than he is to anyone else. Sure Delanie Walker is intriguing but can he even block?

“Delanie Walker is intriguing but can he even block?”
Maybe not, but what if we could sew Delanie’s arms — and head — onto VD’s body? Then we’d have a guy who could block, catch, and think.
Paging Dr. Frankenstein…

Delanie+Bajama
When you think of it, Delanie is Vernons receiving qualities and Bajama is his blocking qualities. I think Singletary will woop his butt tis offseason, but a trade could be possible. Looking at the situation, we might be able to get a trade from a team like Tennessee, who has no explosive receivers, or the giants who might lose theirs after this year, in return for a late first round pick. I personally like Vernon a lot, but I wouldn’t complain if we could score the 30th pick.
According to the comminsioner of the nfl, 104 people retired last year. 7 due to age, and the rest because of Patrick Willis

The Giants have Boss
Who is a better receiving TE than Davis. More over most of the TE drafted late in the first round are probably going to be better than Vernon. I’d say Vernon shouldn’t be worth more than a 3rd round pick to any team and at that price the Niners might as well keep him.

Vernon Davis for Chad Johnson???
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA – ROFLMAO – HAHAHAHA – SNORT – TEEHEE
I live in Cincinnati. Please trust me on this, Johnson is T.O. minus the talent.

Yeah, Chad Johnson clearly has no talent.

let me guess
I may be wrong, but the tone of your comment seems like you doubt me.
Because I live where I live I’ve seen the Niners on television once this year. If I want to watch football on Sunday, my choice is… the Bungles. So I see a lot of Chad Johnson — during the game, on the news, wherever there’s a camera and a microphone. He’s a “me first” whiner who drops as many balls as he catches. Since T.O. left San Francisco, you may have forgotten how much a primadona wide receiver can distract a team. If the Niners can find a way to get T.J. I think that’s a worthwhile investment, otherwise Cincy receivers should be left to rot.

Wow, you’re reading a hell of a lot into my comment. You’re right, my tone was sarcastic, but it didn’t come with all the baggage and innuendo that you’re taking from it. T.O dropped, and still drops, as many passes as he catches. His teams rarely miss the playoffs, though, and he’s been to a Super Bowl. But that’s not the point here.
All I was saying was that Chad Johnson obviously has talent. To say otherwise is absolutely ridiculous. The positive impact of his schtick on both his own play and the team’s performance was once pretty darn high. It seems to have staled significantly, and I never said that I would want Chad Johnson. I never said that I wouldn’t, either, for that matter. In fact, I was intentionally not saying either way. Jump to conclusions much?
But the man is obviously talented. Regardless of everything else, he’s pretty darn talented.

Yeah, untalented guys who act like Chad Johnson don’t stick around the league. Talented guys, on the other hand, can get away with murder — literally (see Leonard Little).

VD for OC?
God, at least VD has become more a team player. I really do not want OC in our yard. You’re getting a worse attitude out of it.
I have no new information on that at this time.

Hmmm...
Davis’ potential and his physical attributes are very appealing that trading him somehow makes me think he might be another Wesley Walls. Anyoen remember him?

Hold on a bit longer...
Trading Vernon Davis does seem like a great idea if you can get a bonafide superstar in return, but the problem is, that idea is just an idea, and there’s no way in hell teams are going to let go of a superstar for an average Tight End like Vernon Davis. As it stands, Vernon Davis is just an “average” receiver, albeit a great blocking tight end (“iff” he knows his blocking assignment).
I think Vernon’s biggest problem, and it should be obvious by now, is staying focused out there on the field. You can argue all you want about how he has weak hands and how he sucks at route running, but even receivers with the most gifted hands and an innate ability to run great routes won’t be productive if they are worried all the time about being the best, and telling the opposition nonsense crap like, “I am the greatest” etc, etc, etc.
Vernon needs to just shut up or put up, or else he WILL be traded (for anything in return). Singletary hit the nail on the head when he went on his post game speech about Vernon. Let’s hope Singletary can help this guy reach his fullest potential during the offseason. I predicted early in the season that Vernon would finish this year with less than 35 receptions, and it looks like I was right. I doubt he’ll get 7 receptions against the ’Skins on Sunday.

Superstar for average TE?
You hear better trade ideas on KNBR..
“So uh..Ralph, I think we need more offense on the Giants. What about Jack Taschner and Kevin Correia for Albert Pujols?”
I mean, that’s kind of what this trade proposal is like.

Razor...
is still doing KNBR? What about Tolbert?
