Bodoglife.com Spread: 49ers -3; Over/Under 37.5; Money Line: 49ers -150, Redskins +130 - Win and the under. Redskins secondary will contain the passing game, but not enough.

Redskins Coverage: Hogs Haven
Week 17 Prediction Contest - Remember that if you don't get predictions in for the morning games you can still enter predictions for later games and get credit. You get credit for any predictions entered by kickoff of the given game. So, if you forget today, you can still predict the MNF game.
Injuries
49ers: Probable - RB Frank Gore (ankle), C Eric Heitmann (abdomen), SS Michael Lewis (abdomen), FS Mark Roman (knee), OT Adam Snyder (ankle), LB Ahmad Brooks (back)
Redskins: Probable - G Pete Kendall (knee); Questionable - OT Jon Jansen (knee), DT Kedric Golston (ankle), LB London Fletcher (foot)
Inactives
49ers: Jamie Martin (third QB), CB Marcus Hudson, CB Reggie Smith, RB Thomas Clayton, LB Ahmad Brooks, C Cody Wallace, T Adam Snyder and TE Sean Ryan.
Redskins: Colt Brennan (third QB), WR Malcolm Kelly, T Devin Clark, G Will Montgomery, DT Ryan Boschetti, OL D'Anthony Batiste, LB Tyson Smith and DE Rob Jackson.
Fooch's Note: Gore will be starting today.
And so we reach the season finale. It's been a long season for the 49ers with plenty of lows and thankfully a few highs (or at least mediums I suppose). The team has certainly developed a sufficient amount of momentum heading into the offseason, but one last win would certainly leave a sweet taste to an otherwise sour season.
Aside from whether Frank Gore will play, one of the big curiosities is what kind of game the Redskins bring. They were in the drivers seat for a playoff spot before a 3-game losing streak ended those hopes. Jim Zorn went from an early candidate for coach of the year to a guy who might very well have to fear for his job. That's not the case in San Francisco and one of the reasons I just want this game over with is so the 49ers can officially lock up Mike Singletary. Either way, let's hope for a W to finish off this season.
Feel free to use this as the morning game thread as well. If we get a decent amount of early game chatter I'll plan on opening a new thread midway through the 49ers game.
GO NINERS!

Jed York named Team President
So I’m guessing that means no Pioli. We’ll have plenty to discuss about this in the coming days.
http://www.49ers.com/pressbox/news_detail.php?PRKey=5053
John and Denise DeBartolo York announced Sunday that Jed York has been named Team President. In his role, York will oversee the team’s day to day operations in all aspects of the organization. His direct reports will be General Manager Scot McCloughan, COO Andy Dolich, and CFO Larry MacNeil.
"We are excited about the future of the 49ers in Jed’s hands" said John York. Previously, Jed York held the position of Vice President of Strategic Planning where he was responsible for the integration of brand strategies and projects related to the long-term operational and financial development of the organization. York joined the organization in 2005, where he held the position of Special Projects Manager and later served as Director of Strategic Planning. Jed’s prior positions with the 49ers were essential to his learning process as to how a major sports franchise functions in the NFL. "It was important that Jed learn every aspect of the 49ers and grow into this leadership role" said Denise.
…..
Jed York’s roots with the 49ers run deep. He is the oldest child of John and Denise DeBartolo York, the owners of the team. York’s uncle and godfather, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., was the former owner of the 49ers. York’s grandfather Edward DeBartolo Sr. bought the team in 1977. A 49ers fan since birth, Jed attended his first Niners game in 1984. His goal has always been to carry on his family’s tradition of success and excellence.
York began his career as a financial analyst at Guggenheim Partners, a diversified financial services firm in New York. He follows in the footsteps of his parents with respect of philanthropic interests. In June of 2007, York was elected to the Board of Directors for the Bayview Hunter’s Point YMCA, which has been a major beneficiary of the 49ers Foundation.

We don’t know a lot of much right now, but people have been getting a different vibe from this guy. Maybe being Eddie D’s godson helps. We’ll see.

This is all we need to know...
“His direct reports will be General Manager Scot McCloughan, COO Andy Dolich, and CFO Larry MacNeil.”
I don’t see Paragg anywhere on that list.

Paraag is a VP so while he may not be a “direct report” he still falls under him.

What is interesting is this...
The only person mentioned in the Football Operations dept. is McCluoghan. Dolich and MacNeil are FO people. Heneghan and Marathe are the 2 top guys in the Football Operations Dept.

What do you mean Dolich and MacNeil are FO people?

On the 49er Website...
They have a page that lists the “Football Operations Dept”. Heneghan is Executive Vice President of Football Administration, and Marathe is Vice President of Football Operations. They’re also listed as Management. Dolich and MacNeil seem to be more on the Corporate side of the team. ScotM is the only person mentioned in that press release that has anything to do with the team itself, and he is below Heneghan and Marathe in the chain of command in the Football Operations Dept, who are also responsible for what we see on the field.

structure
It does appear that way in terms of McCloughan and Paraag. I definitely want to do more research into that.
And you’re right that Dolich and MacNeil are both corporate side. MacNeil is the CFO and I believe Dolich is in charge of everything off the football field. Again, things I’d like to be able to clarify.

Bucs-Raiders: Cadillac blows a tire
Cadillac Williams just broke a nice big run and on the tackle immediately grabbed his knee. I really feel bad for the guy. He just came back from a big surgery. As soon as the trainers got to him all you hear from him is, “Are you f—-ing kidding me?!” That sucks.

Means Goldson will likely finish the game at strong safety. While it’s good see to Goldson get PT, two issues: 1) Hate to lose Lewis to injury, 2) Not sure if Goldson is suited to strong safety if he’s more of a ball-hawk type. Guess we’ll see.
