Week 14 Prediction Contest - Remember that if you don't get predictions in for the morning games you can still enter predictions for later games and get credit.  You get credit for any predictions entered by kickoff of the given game.  So, if you forget today, you can still predict the MNF game.

Injuries
49ers: Probable - WR Arnaz Battle (foot), S Dashon Goldson (knee), S Michael Lewis (abdomen), WR Josh Morgan (groin); Questionable - CB Nate Clements (thumb); Doubtful - CB Allen Rossum (ankle)

Jets: Probable - WR Jerrico Cotchery (shoulder), DL Shaun Ellis (back), LB Jason Trusnik (knee); Questionable - DB Ahmad Carroll (foot), WR Laveranues Coles (thigh), LB David Harris (groin), S Eric Smith (head)

Ïnactives
49ers: Jamie Martin (third QB), KR/PR Allen Rossum, CB Nate Clements, S Dashon Goldson, LB Ahmad Brooks, C Cody Wallace, T Jacob Bender and WR Josh Morgan.

Jets: Brett Ratliff (third QB), K Mike Nugent, WR David Clowney, RB Marcus Mason, S Eric Smith, CB  David Barrett, LB Jason Trusnik and TE Bubba Franks.

EDITOR'S NOTE 12:15PM: Nate Clements is OUT.  According to MM, Strickland will start at corner and in nickel situations, Strickland will move to the slot and Tarell Brown will be at the corner.

Not much really needs to be said about this game.  The Jets need a win to continue their playoff push and the 49ers need to build on the momentum of last week's win at Buffalo.  There are multiple game-time decisions including Clements, Goldson and Morgan for the 49ers and David Harris for the Jets.  Let's hope for a 49ers upset.

GO NINERS!

yeah, but sometimes that's a negative

The biggest knock on Gore, I think, is his footwork.

Sometimes when he runs that low, he causes himself to stumble through open holes. It’s almost like he’s always charging into something…and if there’s nothing in front of him, then he just tumbles forward.

question: in this god-awful brett favre jeans commercial,

was it really so hard to find someone who could catch a TD and land in a mud puddle even somewhat gracefully?

by foosball4949 on Dec 7, 2008 1:47 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

while it's on topic, and before I forget...

there was a bit on espn last week that was talking about the Vikings D-line, and the loss of their DTs to the drug suspensions. In that bit, they listed the top 5 defenses in ypc average on runs up the middle…and San Francisco was number two, with something like 3.3 yards per attempt.

Maybe Franklin’s not so awful afterall? I mean the NT isn’t supposed to be a personal glory position, right?

what i've noticed is

after long drops (7 steps), shaun hill has the awareness to (and consistantly does) slide forward in the pocket to avoid rushers. JTO would just stand still and that’s why he got the ball stripped all the time

by foosball4949 on Dec 7, 2008 2:01 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah, third and long situations with JTO under center...

opposing DEs would just run up the field and not even try to cut in, knowing that JTO would be standing still in the same spot that his drop came to an end.

we're running a lot of shotgun

if alex smith was supposed to be good in the shotgun why couldn’t we run it with him?

Lott's Prayer: Almost as many words as the Lord's Prayer, but the Lord wouldn't recognize any of them.

Smith was okay out of the 'gun under Norv Turner

I like Hill, but he’s not all that great on the corner routes in the end zone.

Bruce play

So far

the defense is playing with more fire and the offense is playing better.

They just need to hold onto the ball.

Wow, if not for the Robinson fumble, we’re looking at least a 17-7 game. They’re playing well besides the fumbles.
