While I'm all for big hits...
I don’t like getting all hyped up over hits that caused serious injury. It’s one thing if It’s Bamm Bamm sacking Brett Favre from the blind side and Favre gets up, it’s another when Favre is knocked to the ground and not moving. I know it wasn’t as severe of a hit as something like that, but he still was badly injured.
Also I think Bamm Bamm’s hit wasn’t that spectacular. I think that because of the way the receiver folded and the loud bang that echoed from Willis’s helmet to helmet crack, it magnified the “awesomeness” of the actual hit. But it was a very good, full steam tackle, on Willis’s part.

that's reasonable
And given the nature of the hit, even though it did not appear illegal (correct me if I’m wrong), I would not be surprised if Derr Kommissar levied a fine against Willis.

It wasn't illegal...
But just like the Boldin hit earlier this season, after the first initial contact, the Jet’s WR’s head/helmet was thrust down/forward and when Willis came to make the hit, the WR’s face mask and part of the helmet collided with Willis’. It was a clean tackle on Willis’s part, but because of the ferocity of the hit and the undeniably shock value it caused, I suspect Willis to be fined. But hey who knows, maybe because of the hit and the play I’m sure it’s going to get on websites like youtube, maybe P. Willis will get more votes for the Pro-Bowl and make up his money there.

I absolutely agree with this. While it was an awesome (and clean) hit, I’m not willing to celebrate a tackle that results in a serious injury.

Here's a link to a semi-low quality clip of the hit...
