Congrats on Balmer:

It looks like you'll be poised to add a receiver with the second pick.

With the Raiders being "Light" of draft picks, i have to live vicariously through local players and other teams.

You are guaranteed to get a real stud with your next pick. I am guessing it will be Hardy.

Desean Jackson would be the best fit for your system, but i think that he will be gone before you pick again.

Cheers,

EPIC GRAMMAR FAIL!

I had no idea that howtheyscored was a lolcat. That puts things into perspective.

But it was intentional!

I was responding late, so I used the past tense, but I wanted it to seem like I was responding early, so I used the future tense too!

49ers draft somehow less pathetic than Giants offense.

not sure id say that

Balmer and Rachal-ok theyre nice players, but i sure wouldve liked to see an OT and OLB. I’ll withhold too much judgement since I know nothing about any of the guys we got, but at this point I’m thoroughly unimpressed. Particularly the VT wideout. A receiver who is just barely 6 foot, doesnt have good speed, and has serious character issues…....does anyone think that sounds like a guy who will be a nice draft pick? I don’t remember seeing him play at all, but my first impression-HORRIBLE.
Giants on the other hand put up 9 runs last night, and with Rowand and Bengie playing well, Lewis entrenched in left and Bowker, Velez, and Burris getting regular playing time the Giants’ offnse isnt half as bad as most everyone predicted. (Its still really bad, just not THAT bad)

still on pace for fewest runs in MLB since 1972! And that’s not even adjusted.

Those that know...

have justified passing on WR in round two. I understand filling needs and what have you, but I feel we missed out big time on DeSean in round two. I know all WRs slipped in draft, many teams scared of first round WR money on iffy talent class, but really as Niner fans we (most of us have local media and were able to see DeSeans’ intangibles) know something the rest of the teams didn’t care to know and that was pure ability. He doesn’t look “prototypical” on paper, but there is something else. He may not have been our #1 WR out of the gate, heck me may not have ever broken the top 2 (which I believe he would have), but rather would have added a whole new dimension to the Niners scoring as a punt/kick returner. Having a guy back there who believes he can ALWAYS change a game in one play, one touch or one chance is something NONE of our players have right now. I am personally really upset with the issues, I mean players we chose this year. Even in my Niners myopia, I cannot agree with anything after round 1.

I don't know

As much as I like Jackson, I’m pretty skeptical about his future. And even you describe him as a player who has a good chance of only ever being a special teams player. And drafting a glorified punt returner in the 2nd round just doesn’t sound like a great move to me, somehow….

i totally agree

loved watching him at cal but did not want him in rounds 1 or 2 of the draft.

DeSean Jackson = Peter Warrick?

I really hope Jackson has a great career and consistently shows the filthy speed. But I could totally see him ending up with a Peter Warrick NFL career. I really hope it doesn’t work out that way, but we’ll see what happens.
