49ers - Cowboys: The Catch on YouTube
I had some thoughts on a post to take us into the weekend, but that has been temporarily scrapped as I have discovered reason #1 why YouTube is such a great website. I was checking out the forums over at sf49ers.com and somebody posted a link to video from the 49ers-Cowboys matchup that resulted in "The Catch." This
video features the ENTIRE drive leading up to The Catch, as brought to you by Vin Scully and Hank Stram. I was 2 years old when this happened, so getting to see the entire drive is always a pleasure. For your viewing pleasure, I present The Drive that led up to The Catch. Until YouTube takes it down, enjoy.

Amazing Grace, Amazing Play
That was a storybook play that can only be written by three people:
Joe Montana, Dwight Clark, and GOD. Since God made this world, this play has been made possible. If our world didn’t exist, “The Catch” would be non-existent, but in the form of gases somewhere in the universe. (For atheists, the translation would be: If Monkeys didn’t exist..)
This play was beautifully played, the defense was closing up on Montana while Clark jig-jagged from left to right, Montana knew if he threw low, the defenders would bat it down like someone blocking a field goal, and Clark was on the same page, more instinctively so, Montana threw a high arc of a pass, Clark took the initiative and leaped as high he could with arms outstretched, hands showing two fives like a butterfly net ready to snatch the football.
Lo, “The Catch” was made. History was made. Can we repeat history?
Sure, there is such a thing as Deja Vu. The good kind.

I didn’t know that Bill Walsh made this world.
I mean, it makes sense. I just didn’t know it.
My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.
