Gore: A Historic 49er After 2008
Scroll down to the 49ers all-time rushers. If Gore runs for as little as 1,000 yards this season, he'll move into fifth ALL-TIME among 49ers rushers, passing - among others - Steve Young AND Kevan Barlow.
The faster Kevan Barlow is off the 49ers top 10 all-time rushers list, the better. On the other hand, Steve Young would have to go off the list first... and that would kind of be a shame.
I think I've written 75 words. Even so, this only deserves to be a fanshot.

Good call
I think we’d be willing to sacrifice Steve Young if it meant ridding the record books of Kevan Barlow.
Interesting thing I just noticed. Over at profootballreference.com they list career rushing leaders and on the 49ers list, Gore is 10th because Johnny Strzykalski is 9th with 3,415 yards. Strzykalski played from 1946-1952. Is it possible sf49ers.com doesn’t count the AAFC years?

Wow
sf49ers.com absolutely DOES NOT count the AAFC years! Counting the AAFC, Joe Perry has well over 8000 yards.
That seems kinda crappy. Especially since, since I’ve been doing these historical posts, Johnny Strzykalski has become one of my favorite past 49ers. I even learned how to spell his name from memory!
My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.
