Chad Johnson reportedly changes his name to Chad Ocho Cinco

This has nothing to do with the 49ers, but I am simply amazed by this story. According to 790 The Ticket in Miami, Chad Johnson filed the necessary paperwork to legally change his last name from Johnson to Ocho Cinco. That link is to ProFootballTalk.com, which has been known to post some sketchy rumors. However, it's also been mentioned at ESPN and The Sporting News.

Personally, I get a kick out of Chad Johnson's (or Ocho Cinco I suppose) antics, primarily because they're not something the 49ers have to handle. There were stories of big time locker room tension, which is definitely not something you want if you're trying to win football games.

However, it sounds like things calmed down in the past couple months, so we'll see if he behaves himself. In the meantime, just enjoy this highest of comedy.

When it comes down to it, the only thing that matters is touchdowns!!! names, geneology, mom&dad, grandparents, all those things are over-rated.. go go OCHO CINCO!!

I love it.

I’m a fan of his mostly harmless humor. He is not beating his wife, getting DUI’s, doing drugs, etc. He may be guilty of getting bad haircuts, lack of fashion sense, using a dentist who is also a jeweler, but he is a good wide receiver. You can’t argue with the stats.
