49ers introduce new Bill Walsh Field sign at Candlestick Park
I received an email today from Jason Jenkins, 49ers Director of PR Operations with some fun news for 49ers fans. After renaming the field at Candlestick Bill Walsh Field, the team put a plaque dedicated to Walsh in the tunnel where the 49ers come out of before the game (and I'd assume halftime). Jason said they wanted to add something for the fans to see, so this Sunday a new sign will be unveiled in the South End Zone:

Honestly, as long as they remain in the Bay Area I think I’d be fine. I mention that only because there are numerous teams that are not right in the city they’re named after. The Detroit Pistons play in Auburn Hill which is something like 30+ miles away from downtown Detroit.
