2-2 Now Same As 2-2 Then?
Last year we went 2-2 this year we are 2-2. Last year there was an obvious iceberg in our path. This year we are in rough waters but we have lifeboats that have motors, blankets and wet bar! For pete's sake, we have the talent we have the coaching. This league has completely changed in 4 games and will again change completely in another 4 and that still only the half way point.
This loss reminds me of the Cardinals loss. Simple, are glorious team can not afford turn overs and penaltys. Everyone wants to talk about how bad this was or who didn't do there job... blah blah blah. We are good team with a lot of talent, but we will only and can only win games that we are mentally focused on not turning over the ball and not giving up 1st down after 1st down to penaltys. Very Simple!
J.T. is our man, Gore is God, Win with Willis, and if it don't fit it's Nate Clemment.
Go Niners!

I feel
the Optimism too.
I actually think the Saint’s game was a wake up call and a good thing.
MURS for President!!!!!!!
I agree.
This year’s 2-2 is a lot better than last year’s, but that’s only the obvious.
I think one of the biggest bug-a-boos from last season, the pass rush, returns for an encore presentation. While Haralson, Green, and McDonald have shown some potential, the playcalling hasn’t allowed for those three guys to make more out of their ability. Whether it’s the type of opponents or just bad scheming, the ship has the righted at some point.
The thing that disappointed me most about yesterday’s game was that the defense lacked… continuity. They rolled out the “big” nickel package again this week, but instead of playing the pass (as they have the previous two weeks), they decided they were going to cue on the run game. Big mistake. If they’re going to go conservative and go with a nickel package on every down, they may as well go the whole nine yards and not cheat the safety up into the box. They’ve done well with that the previous weeks, so why did they change it for the Saints? The lack of WRs? Please, that didn’t seem to change their gameplan for Seattle (which worked, for the most part), so why change it for the Saints, Reggie Bush? He’s a bigger threat in the passing game than the run game.
We are in better shape this year for sure…..we need to get some pass rush though!

Some optimism...
as long as JTO can remain healthy with the pounding he’s taking: at this rate, the 9ers would give up 76 over the course of the season, which is ridiculous.
I am excited but JTO needs to mature quickly...
JTO needs to either see something or throw the ball away. I think he has had 3 fumbles, not because of bad pass protection, but because of holding the ball to long. I also think he gets happy feet after getting hit a few times; he doesn’t make his progressions and locks into one guy. I think he will mature I just hope it doesn’t come to late for the 49ers.
Next year will be our year! (copyright 2003*, been used each of last five years)
