Nolan's worst nightmare?
Is Aaron Rodgers performing well in his first start really Nolan's worst nightmare? Talk about taking this whole situation completely out of context. And the quoted league source? Jackass.

Wow that is pretty ridiculious….i’m sure Nolan will be fired in the next week now.
Rodgers had 3 years to sit and learn from arguably one of the best QB’s around, no wonder he is pretty decent. I think things would have been much different had he been picked by us and taken the road Alex Smith has taken.

Right. Aaron Rodgers got to sit behind one of the best QBs in history and learn the game for three years. Alex Smith learned from… Trent Dilfer?Come on. As we’ve seen over and over again: unstable organizations ruin young QBs.
Unstable
I wouldn’t call the organization unstable. I think that outside of the offensive coordinator thing, this front office has been pretty stable. You can’t fault Nolan for bringing in guys who (apparently) could have been good offensive coordinators. They were so well-regarded that they’ve been picked for head coaching gigs.
Imagine if McCarthy hadn’t left after season 1. Not saying Smith would have been loads better, but he would have definitely had a better chance to be so.
Knee-jerk reactions, never considering variables. I will always believe that the comparisons of Alex Smith versus Aaron Rodgers are a lot of hot air. Taken in the context of the time, Alex Smith was the better option at quarterback when he was selected. It’s debatable if he should have been selected over someone like… Saaay, Braylon Edwards. But even Edwards may have had a rougher go of it as a Niner, playing for a team in need of a quarterback to throw him the ball.
There’s probably a better than good chance that Rodgers will come out of this as the better draft pick, but I think the circumstances ultimately favor Rodgers and even Braylon Edwards.
