Im not sure if anyone knows who this guy is, but he just signed with the Dolphins for $4.9 Million over 4 years and he’s a beast!!!

I’m very disappointed the Niners didn’t sign this guy. Im from Canada and a CFL season ticket holder for the Blue Bombers, and this guy is the best player I have seen come out of the CFL since Jeff Garcia.
He’s a beast and only 26 years old with 39 sacks in the last two seasons!!! He also won the defensive player of the year the last two seasons. He played defensive end for the B.C Lions, but played outside linebacker for Penn State in college. He’s now going to be lining up as an outside linebacker for the Dolphins. For that price, and with the need we have for a pass rush specialist, I think he could have been a gem.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Quiet signing
I saw something at our Dolphins blog, but had seen nothing else. How come more isn’t being made of this signing if people expect big things?
My guess..
is the CFL doesn’t get much exposure in the American media. Plus, the two leagues are very different and just because a player is successful in the CFL doesn’t mean he will be in the NFL and vica versa.
The CFL is a passing league because of the 3 downs and bigger field so the more passing snaps, the more opportunities the d has for sacks, which benefits players like him. However, with that being said I have never endorsed any other player leaving the CFL to the NFL other than Garcia or Flutie. I do believe he will be successful given the chance to and at the very least is well worth the money.
He had 17 NFL teams interested and worked out for 8 of them, receiving offers from all 8. That combined with the fact he signed a deal equivalent to a low round NFL draft pick with a decent signing bonus, (which isn’t the typical deal an undrafted player who had been previously cut and is coming back into the league has ever got), shows that NFL GMs were definately impressed.
