What do people think of the new look of ESPN.com?
This has nothing to do with the 49ers, but I'm curious what people think of the redesign of espn.com. I'm not sure how they did it, but the site appears to have been simplified while being overly complicated. I think part of my discomfort is just the change in general. When they switched to their last incarnation I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I grew to enjoy it just fine. I'm assuming I'll get used to this version as well.
What do I dislike about it? Well, in the previous versions, when you scrolled over a given sport (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc...) there was an automatic drop-down menu where you could click on scoreboard, standings and other assorted league information. That does not seem to exist anymore and it's kind of a pain.
What do I like about it? Well, what they do have on the front page is distinctly separated, whether it be Simmons and Reilly, the headlines, what's on ESPN today, the poll, and so forth. I could definitely get used to that.
So what do you guys think about this? I've included a poll, but I'd like to hear your substantive thoughts on it. Am I missing something that makes it more user friendly?

Because ESPN.com is no longer a regular destination for my web browsing, unless I’m looking up a specific story. So the interface doesn’t really bother me or excite me, so long as I can find the article I’m looking for.

It's a whole lot better now...
But still not enough to compel me to browse it. What they really need to scale down is their whole Network, and also realize the fact that Tony Kornhieser knows nothing about football, and ‘gasp’, is not funny either.
Whaaaaaaa?

+1billion. Preach on, brother drummer!

It really annoys me that sites insist on NOT having dynamic pages.
It looks like it’s optimized for 1024×768 resolution or something. Widescreen LCD displays are becoming cheaper and cheaper, laptops are coming with widescreen format displays, and yet I sit here and look at sites like the “new” ESPN that basically looks the same as before but only takes up 2/3 of my monitor — kinda like the SBNation 3.0 blog format, in which I and a host of others begged and pleaded until the “wide” option was added… slightly better yet still not that great.
But, echoed above, I rarely go to the ESPN home page.

Where is the MyEspn link? Maybe I just missed it but I was on today and had to do a search for myespn in order to get to it.

I go to ESPN somewhat regularly, only because i bounce from site to site, but now I can’t see it normally at work: it makes my internet explorer crash. So, F ESPN. SI, Yahoo and CBSSportsline is where its at.
Blind devotion.

I'm a FoxSports.com guy myself. Less busy the ESPN.
Watching the Niners is like getting kicked in the Junk, that's why we wear a cup.
The new ESPN look sucks...
It makes it harder to browse at work.
I have no new information on that at this time.
