Golden Nuggets: So pumped..
Good morning everyone, James here with your Nuggets for the day. I don't have much to report myself, just salivating over Sunday's game and over the delicious, delicious tailgating fare I'll be partaking in. Still, I'm excited about the game too, the Falcons should present a good challenge for us yet as the game looms closer and closer I feel more and more confident that the 49ers will win it. I just cannot see the team losing to the Falcons at this point--I feel the defense will best the Falcons offense and that the 49ers offense is just good enough to put up a few on Atlanta. In the news we've got more previews and definitely more looks at Michael Crabtree and his contract--nothing new on MC Hammer, though. I know, the addition of Hammer made this site go from "great" to "lolbestsiteever" but for now he's out of the news. How about some links? Here it goes...

The team isn't seeing the signing of Crabtree a distraction--if there's any coach I think can deal with distractions, I think it'd be Singletary. (MercuryNews.com)

Good morning
Crabtree is practicing on the scout team. Thats the best way for him to catch up to the NFL speed, Right? I’d rather have him practice against Nate Clements like the articles mention, and adjust each snap to what he is doing. Rather than playing on the offense practice against Defensive scout team that won’t be as challening. But offcourse after several weeks when he gets into the groove, then its a different story running his offense routes.
Finally good to hear how Crabtree is actually doing in practice. Nothing running routes to test his speed yet but it was mentioned that he is really quick making cuts from Point A to Point B!
From Singletary’s notebook I like the random question about Nedney :). Then I like the question about Wide Receivers and Coach talks about Marques Harris.

I suspect this game will be close
As the game gets closer and closer I am feeling more like this isn’t going to be the walk in the park that the Niners had last week against St. Louis. The Falcons are better in every facet of the game than the Rams were.
I am nervous for the following reasons and order in of importance:
1) Michael Turner & Jerious Norwood- Both these guys have the “homerun” capability. Michael Turners longest run has been 16 yards this year. While he has played less than stellar defenses, he has also had two weeks to study the Niners D and tendencies. Anytime Norwood gets the ball, if he gets one crease, he has the speed to take it to the house. I like our defense against these two especially since we silenced Adrian Peterson and Steven Jackson. Even though I like our chances, it still makes me nervous that these guys have had extra time to prepare.
2) Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzales, Roddy White, and Michael Jenkins- Tony Gonzales has proven that he hasn’t aged like the average TE and has given Ryan just one more weapon to watch out for when preparing for thier pass attack. White is always a guy that can go after the long ball and Jenkins is like a stealth bomber, he’s quite until the attack. Our DB’s in my opinion are some of the best among the league but I think they will have thier hands full. When Atlanta played Miami, Miami sent several mixed blitz packages. Countless times Channing Crowder was unevaded to Matt Ryan but Ryan was able to still get passes off. I hope Manusky will make the proper adjustments to account for this.
3) Atlanta’s Defense- While they rank among the worst among the NFL, I think that stat does not tell the true story of the identity of the Falcons defense. John Abraham, Curtis Lofton, Mike Peterson, and Erik Coleman are all capable of making plays. Our offense has gotten a little bit better each week. But it will come down to A) How much better Coffe can be against a stronger defense than last week and B) How well Jimmy Raye calls the game.
All and all, I do like our chances to pull off another home win. I doubt that this will be as easy of a game as we had last week. We will see how much having 2 weeks to prepare for us will help Atlanta. Another big test. I do not think Atlanta was as big a test as the Minnesota game was and we almost pulled that one off. So we will see
