Falcons 35 - 49ers 10: Just painful

   Th_falcons_icon_medium @ 49ers_logo_medium

New threads apparently make no difference in a game like this as the 49ers really can't do anything right.  When Nedney joins the party with missed field goals, it's safe to say it's a lost day.  Except for about 5 minutes in the first half, this game has been an absolute joke for the 49ers.  And the Dre Bly celebration on his INT return, leading to a fumble?  He should have to spend a couple days just running up and down The Hill.

Try not to embarrass yourselves any further Niners!

No real effort by either the offense or the defense. I am sick to my stomach. 3 more points that didnt need to be given away if BLY had just gone down with the ball holding it with both hands. A TOTALLY basic play. IDIOT!

A couple of things.

I was afraid of this game, but because the Falcons are a good team. It turns out that the Niners play their worst game of the season (decade?) against a good team, so it looks even worse.

This will be good to see how good Hill’s arm is.

So far, not so good.

I notice that Crabtree and A. Smith are looking and commenting to each other on the sidelines.

by PiKAgiant on Oct 11, 2009 3:28 PM PDT reply actions

Smith

Honestly, why not pull Hill at this point for Smith? Having to throw every play with this offensive line (even against a prevent defense) will lead to some big hits at some point. I mean the 49ers sat Steve Young in that ugly Eagles game, so I don’t see the problem with sitting Hill at this point.

by David Fucillo on Oct 11, 2009 3:28 PM PDT reply actions

Give him the work

I really don’t blame Shaun Hill but at this point it’s easier to get more explosive on offense changing the QB than trying to change the majority of the offensive line. Maybe a he can make a few more plays.

Showing the replay of coffee with his head up his kazoo

keeping us from challanging the turnover in the firs half that cost us the game for the most part is sickening… Coffee is expected to to make rookie mistakes, but that was a totally head not in the game. Pee Wee players know where to be and if they are in or out better. It is an unexcuable error. It was the turning point in the game. We should have had the ball and trying to score. Instead we just gave it back to the Falcons. Hill is proving that we need to draft a QB in the next draft.

can someone tell Hill you can only bounce-pass in the NBA?

If you had a lineup of 9 Jack Custs who hit(Cust career average) .239 AVG, .382 OBP, and .475 SLG, then your team would score 6.12 runs per game-totalling to 991runs a season. The 08 rangers lead the majors in runs score with 901.

I see no effort. No hustle, no pride, just nothing. Where is the EFFORT? The Niner’s Defense just stinks and the Offense has been worse. WOW! I guess the niners players are already thinking of the BYE week a little too soon. If I were Singletary, NO DAYS OFF durring the BYE week. NONE! They cant afford to have days off with the problems they have on both sides of the ball. Niners should look to draft or pick up a free agent QB next season. So can we stop the talk about the playoffs?

I thought the playoff talk was a little premature, but with this effort, we can safely say that this isnt a playoff team. They have been embarassed bye a very mediocre falcons team. I would go back and start from square one durring the bye week and see if this season can be salvaged. The team is not a very good team. Hill is a liability at QB. He cant be trusted to keep the team in the game with his arm. Coffee is the rookie we thought he was. Unable to find a hole even when they open right in front of him. Our receivers are just bad. they couldnt get open against a mediocre falcons defense. The Niners have been exposed as a team full of flaws. Did anyone see this coming. I thought the falcons had a chance to win, but the niners took the game off. They totally mailed this game in. There was so little effort by the niners in every aspect of the game. I cant see this team making the playoffs, and they would get snuffed in the first round anyway.I am hopeful that they can slowly improve over the weeks and get better for a run next year. We really have a lot of holes in this team Hill can run the ball. Unfortunatly he runs the ball better than he throws it.

Another year, another chance to hope for the team !!

That coffee was weak today.

He is a rookie, and he played like a rookie today. I am not impressed by this last drive. The other team doesnt care if the Niners score. We need to take a step back and look at what we have on this team. We have a sub par QB, an offensive line that is sub-par. And receivers that can NOT get open even when given time. The play of the offense isnt NFL quality. I think the defense is SICK of holding the line for the offense to improve. By the way, chilo rachel is a bad offensive lineman. He cant stay in front of anyone. The Niners need to make an effort to bring in Offensive linemen who are NFL Quality linemen. It is just not working using sub-par linemen to try and win in the NFL. There has been no effort to improve the Offensive line, and it shows. They signed an Free agent who RETIRED rather than play on this unit.

nice pass by hill out of bound again

that is about his 8th pass that was out of bounds. You have to give receivers a chance to catch a ball INBOUNDS in the NFL. Hill is so scared to throw an interception, that he throws the ball where his OWN receivers cant catch it. The niners need a NEW QB. This game TOTALLY DISGUSTS ME! Where is the pride? You have to stand up for something or you will fall for anything. Where was the effort today? Looks like the team decided to take the day off going into the BYE week. You have to ask yourself are the Niners this bad? the Falcons are certainly not this good. I guess this game shows what the Niners are realy about.

Second guessing Hill...

I have supported Hill. What he lacks in skill, he made up w/ good decisions and motivation, which had kept the O on the field long enough for the D to rest and dominate. I don’t blame him for the loss today, everything fell apart today. But his inaccuracy today has been glaringly dismal. I don’t think he can take us to the big game on heart alone.

I almost spent 170 bucks to go to this game!

that makes me feel good that I didnt pay to see this travisty! If I had shelled out the big bucks on this game, I’d want to break something! As it is, I am pretty angry about the way this game has played out. Again, are the Niners this bad, or are the falcons better than we gave them credit for? I dont think the Falcons are that good. I think the Niners just mailed this game in. IF I WAS SINGLETARY, I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS TEAM EVEN ONE DAY OFF DURRING THE BYE WEEK. They havent earned even one day off! In fact, since they mailed this game in and took the day off, the coaching staff should work them TWICE as hard durring the bye! This team isnt good enough for days off. Hill and his receivers need to work much harder to develop the chemistry to be even a mediocre NFL offense! If I had paid to see this game, I would have been at the box office demanding a refund!!! I think we can A L L stop using P L A O F F S and N I N E R S in the same sentance. This team isnt a playoff team period. They proved that with exceptional clarity today. This team is a young team that needs a lot more talent to improve to the point where they are a playoff caliber team. I think we have the right coach and the right Front Office to improve this mess
