I got it..get T.O.!
okay okay okay don't bash me...lol. I understand that the 0 Line is not great and that needs to be fixed but why not give up a 3rd round for T.O.? The bills are a horrible team this year and they only have T.O. for 1 year and he was suppose to make them better but clearly their offense is too bad for anyone to help them. But us? I think it would be smart to pick up another wr. Think about it...T.O.,Crabtree, Morgan, Davis and Gore. That is a nasty offense and if we can fix the offensive line that is an offense that should be able to score. Say what you want but he is better than any wr we currently have on our roster and he is trying his best to not get in trouble this year. He is near the end of his career and we have the chance to go to the playoffs this year so I don't see him being upset about coming back to the NFC, to a competing team and the team he started his career with...
I'm just saying....it's a thought

I was thinking the same thing
Yesterday I had the same thought!!! I honestly think we need to do something with Hill first….I personally dont think we can win with Hill if we ever fall behind early and have to depend on him to make throws. Crabtree will help, but so will TO!!
by Quin on Oct 13, 2009 6:08 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I'm with you
I’m not sold on hill either and not sure if he will ever be able to bring us from behind but there is where i defense comes in. If they can keep the 49ers in the game and the online can give Hill at least 4 seconds back there who can guard T.O, crabtree, Davis and Gore straight up? Not many if any…its a great move and I hope that it is pursued.

....bash!
No, I disagree.
TO hasn’t been his destructive self lately, but he also hasn’t been holding on to catches .
Plus, even though it hasn’t been working out because of Gore’s injury and our OLine woes, I have no doubt that Sing and Raye still want to be a running football team. If we ever get back on track with that, you could expect TO to start in with his tantrums.
Besides, TO is a deep threat reciever….
…you saw Sunday how good we are at delivering the ball deep.
How many years do you think TO has left? Not worth a draft pick IMO.
Plus…. He’s TO. I don’t forgive or forget.

oh krowley.....
we must learn to forgive and forget from time to time. We as fans are wishy washy…one moment we hate them but the minute that player gets to our team and does well we all love em! I do agree that T.O. is deep threat so maybe in that sense it would not bold so well but even I would like to believe that T.O. just wants to win(I think he can be a possession wideout too).
We have no deep threats because hill has no time so like I said if we don’t fix the line problem then all of this doesn’t matter anyway. When a person is unhappy in a situation they tend to not give it there all or I’ll say lose their train of focus. Browns fans are asking where those hands were that Braylon Edwards showed last night, Raiders fan were asking Moss where that deep threat was when he was when he was with them.
It’s a amazing what a winning atmosphere can do for a player…:)

heh...
that’s the beauty of being a fan. I can dance between rabid, blind homerism and illogical hate. I decided years ago that, as long as my voodoo is strong, TO will never get a ring.
We have a coaching staff that can make the rational and informed decisions. My job is to scream and cheer, cry and whine.
Realistically, though, I see too many reasons why TO would not be a good fit.

no thanks
not worth giving up a draft pick for 11 games of TO’s antics. He won’t want to play in this offense and he won’t fix our problems.
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.

It’s not even a guarantee that he’s all that good anymore. I mean, yeah, he’s still probably good, but his skills seem to be declining pretty quickly, and he’s no spring chicken….
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

Good call!!!
He wont get away with crap with Sing there. I’d give up a 3rd in a heartbeat.

I HATE this "Sing won't let him get away with crap here"...
… stuff.
If Owens gets here and gets into a clash with Singletary, I can definitely see him having no problem with just not playing. While that’s all fine and dandy in terms of teaching him a lesson, the 49ers would then also be out a draft pick or two.

Have you ever watched TO?
He lives to be out there on the field. His emotions just get in the way. He always wants to play and has never given up on plays.

No
While I wouldn’t mind him on the team he won’t do any better here than in Buffalo. The Bills have a woeful offensive line that is giving up sacks and not protecting the QB properly. Trent Edwards is not having enough tiem to throw the deep ball. None of that will change if we land T.O, and we’ll be out his salary.
by smileyman on Oct 13, 2009 9:52 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
He only signed a 1 year deal
He’ll be a FA after 2009
You can clammor for him then.

FanPosts
Can I just put a moratorium on spring 2010 TO FanPosts now? Or should I just create our official TO FanPost now??

can we just say
no TO fanposts until the end of the season, and then there is one and only one TO fanpost allowed which is the official NN TO fanpost?

Fooch no please
I don’t think there will be that many suggestions for T.O. this year. I’m sure there will be more M.Vick post than anything else. So lets just go with no more T.O. post and I will oblige

Huh?!?!
This makes no sense.
This team is not well-equipped to exploit TO’s advantages.
And to trade him we’d have to give something up – something like, a player who might contribute down the road. After this year, we have no need for TO (Crabtee and Morgan will be better down the road).
You want to give up a piece of our future for a guy who’s skills can’t be well-utilized on our current team.
Are you crazy?
by Ronaldinho on Oct 13, 2009 11:06 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
yes I am crazy
but I’ve been called worse. I won’t people who can play and contribute and 8 games with a guy that can help is not totally insane. Of course morgan and crabtree are the future but if we want to have crabtree make plays there isn’t a better solution that having someone else that requires attention playing on the end of the field. I support Morgan..heck he came from VA TECH! GO HOKIES! But he’s not there yet…in time.
This post was made to get a good debate going…thats all and so far it is working.

It's a stupid debate
Nobody’s going to worry about TO in this offense because Hill isn’t a big threat throwing the ball.
And are you remotely convinced that TO, at this stage in his career, is better RIGHT NOW than Morgan is? The guy has 12 catches this year.

What does TO stand for?
NOOOOO!!!!!
I have totally erased those initials from my memory bank!
My therapist helped me get rid of those initials for the last 5 years with the following:
Telephone Operator
Tall Ostrich
Time Out
Troll Ogre
Taxi Operator
Tasty Orange
ANYTHING BUT TERRELL OWENS!!!!

There’s really not much difference between him and Morgan at this point. I think Singletary can definitely keep him in check, but TO just isn’t an elite receiver any more and hasn’t been since sometime last year.
by znk916 on Oct 13, 2009 12:25 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Nope
Some good points made. But he’s old with a bad attitude. I think we’d do better just trying to get some good lineman while working in Crabs.

No T.O
He partially the blame for the drastic down spiral. If a player can’t stay with a team when they are rebuilding, (site decorum) him altogether.

you really blame T.O. partially rlott?
thats pretty bad. If I recall and correct if i’m wrong but the organization was on its way down pretty much after young retired and we decided to try Elvis Grbac at qb. Things were in a shamble and for awhile there the Jeff Garcia to Owens duo was okay but T.O. wasn’t the problem(he didn’t help) but there was a lot more issues than him.

Yeah, what this team needs is an aging wideout to toss in with the other 7.
Will go well the cannon armed QB they’re throwing out there.
