OT: Parking @ Candlestick
I want to go to the Monday night game against the Cards on 12/14 but I've never been to a 49ers' game before or Candlestick Park for that matter.
How much do they charge for parking? Any suggestions on any lots? Candlestick is kind of out there so what are the other types of public transportation available?
Thanks in advance to my fellow NN people and may that game allow the 49ers to break their playoffless-streak.

parking is 30$…. But it is for the gravel lots.. you want to be in the black top lots… You cant get in there without a parking pass ( just made that rule this year and its BULL***T!!!) …so i would suggest getting a parking pass

earlier this season
I scored free tix with a parking pass to the Seahawks game. Getting there wasn’t too bad but the lot was kind of a nightmare. I got there about an hour before kickoff and it was really hard to find a spot in the lot – but eventually the attendants let us to an area with a bunch of open spots. Lots of tailgating and stuff. Getting out wasn’t too bad, but making it back to the bay bridge took forever. As for public transit it depends on where you’re coming from. There are definitely busses and also shuttles from the Bart stations.
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.

My suggestion
If you are coming from 101, get off the freeway and park at the first lot on the left hand side (if you are coming from South). Its a dirt lot, costs $30 I think, and has a lot of cool fans there, plus it takes only about ten minutes to get back on the freeeway after the game. Its a decent walk to the stadium, but it saves yourself the mess of parking closer and dealing with the aftergame traffic (sometimes can take over an hour to get back to the Freeway if you have to go through HP.)

Oh
Get there at least 2 hours ahead of game time. You need plenty of time to bbq to your hearts delight in between tequila shots and beers. I mean, if thats your thing. Thats my pregame ritual at least.

Thanks for the suggestions
I would take the bus but there are maybe 4 of us so paying $30 for parking for 1 car is worth it in that sense. I want to get there early but it’s a Monday, I’ll probably work half day then take BART to South SF from the East Bay (where I live) so tailgating sadly might be scratched.
Now I need a new 49ers’ jersey, the last one I had was Steve Young’s back in middle school – I can actually still fit in it but I’d rather buy the new ones. I’m thinking of either Crabtree or Willis…
Win the inning.

Public transit is still better for all of you
Unless you really want to tail-gate. It’s tough getting in but depending on which lot you park, it can take nearly two hours to get of there and to a SF home. That it will be a Monday night makes it harder getting there. If there has been rain that week, the dirt lots flood and parking becomes even more tight.
Muni busses can get you out of there and into the heart of SF (or downtown if you need a BART connect) in about 45 minutes.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.

DONT PAY, WALK
Just get off the exit and make a left. There are always plenty of parking spaces toward the Caltrain station.

Please elaborate
What exit will that be? And is parking at the Caltrain station available on a Monday?
Win the inning.

Its the candlestick exit
just head left on tunnel drive. There is no parking at the caltrain station per say, but its a huge industrial area with lots of parking. The walk is only 15 mins.

Looking for Parking Passes
Found a couple of sites charging around $50, going to our annual Niner game (against Jax) with my Dad and brother, really want to tailgate with some of the Niner Faithful.
Does that price sound about right? Anywhere else I should be looking to get one?
I’ve also heard getting there early lets you get in to the lots by paying cash- any truth to that?
