Where is Brandon Jones?
Please somebody explain to me how Brandon Jones has slipped into obscurity, especially when we signed him to a for year deal? Is he still hurt? Is he so far down the depth chart that no one cares? What gives NN? From what I recall he was looking great during the Training camp before the shoulder injury. He was supposed to be one of the top three WRs in the line up. So again I ask, with all of our offensive woes why haven't we seen 49ers number 81 on the field thus far?

Where's Jones?
Apparently he’s …"helping out on special teams to get on the field, and things like that," …
Better Question:
Where is Jason Hill?
Natural hater of all NY, Pittsburgh, Oakland, LA, and Dallas teams
+1
He was emerging as a legit threat from the slot toward the end of last year… He must have pissed off Jimmy Raye, maybe he called him a California Raisin.
Chris Cohan- YOU'RE FIRED!
Jones...
The Staff from what has been written wasn’t too sold on him when we first signed him so I doubt he plays anytime soon. I think it was the WR coach that didn’t really want him when we signed him, and god knows that when Jerry Sullivan doesn’t want him to play, he won’t play.
One would figure they would have asked...
Strange.
You have been DFiBrillated.

I doubt that's the case anymore.
When Jones signed, there were “rumblings” (I call it rumblings because it was never substantiated by any official word from the 49ers) that someone amongst the coaching staff was upset because his opinion wasn’t asked for before signing a free agent. I don’t know if the “source” the media outlet(s) had referred to Jones directly, but Jones was the 49ers “marquee” free agent signing this past offseason.
In any case, if Sullivan was upset early on, it sure didn’t show during camp. Usually, if a WR is in Sullivan’s dog house, he just doesn’t touch the field, period (see: Jacobs, Taylor or Lelie, Ashley). Jones was actually showing signs of light early on in camp. If he didn’t get hurt, I have VERY little doubt that he’d have been the #3 WR from day one and produced more than Arnaz Battle has to date.
Cause he wears #81…
They’re still getting over the other famous Niner that wore #81… I wonder how many times Sullivan has said to Brandon, “Not now T.O. we’re busy”
lol
but anyway, I think this is the first time all season from 49ers players we hear from anyone that they are unhappy about playing time. Right?
Turned out abit unfortunate for B.Jones but hopefully it will make itself a bit better as the season moves on. As long as everyone knows their role and each one will be somewhat significant by the time we are in the playoff games that count :)

Personally
I think that Jones has alot of potential. It’s way way too early to tell now of course, but I think he may eventually (assuming he gets a shot) be the #2 WR. I followed him when he got drafted by Tennessee and he was very effective as their #3. I remember thinking it was going to eventually be Gage and Him as 1 and 2.
He was awesome in college and I do not understand the rather big contract we gave him if we weren’t going to use him. He will get in eventually. I am not sure what the hold up is…maybe the shoulder is still bothering him…who knows.
It was a blunder of a signing. Even in the future I don’t see him seeing the field except for 3rd-and-long situations. Singletary will want Moran Norris in to block for Gore on 1st and 2nd down. Vernon Davis is also important as a blocker. Crabtree and Morgan will be the receivers.
I just don’t see us running many 3 WR sets. We have our best talent on the field with our TE and FB in.
"We Deserve"
I thought I read somewhere that ..
Jimmy Raye (Joe Billy Bob) was planning on running 3 receiver sets more with Crabs in the picture. Could be kinda nice on some plays with Crabs as 1WR, Morgan as 2WR and Jones at 3 or maybe even switch the last two.

What’s weird is that the 49ers have actually run 3WR quite often. According to this blog entry by Sando over at ESPN, the 49ers have gone with 3WR sets 27.5% of the time all season (going 50%+ against the Falcons).
Considering the personnel issues along the offensive line, I don’t know about the 49ers going 3WR 50% of the time, but I would definitely like to see them somewhere around their season average, if not slightly higher (i.e. 30% to 35%).
27.5% is not very often
I would guess that’s near the bottom of the league.

What are you basing that off of? He was hurt early on and we haven’t seen what he can do. Although, I have seen what he can do with Tennessee and in college at OU. So I am not sure what grounds exactly that you’re basing that off of. Is it just your personal opinion?
Maybe his career actually trumps his talent at this point and it turns out he’s just not very good.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.
He was the 3rd WR on the Titans
And couldn’t get in the starting lineup because of random dudes like Justin Gage and Roydell Williams. I’m not sure why anyone ever thought he was very good.
