This is according to a Panthers beat writer. Thank you John Fox.

Gah!
I knew about this like twenty minutes ago and was waiting to find the source (was alerted via text from Panthers fan) before emailing you. Foiled again.

source
I was going to Rotoworld to look up something and it was at the top of the headlines. I don’t have text alerts for stuff. Rotoworld is a great accumulator of this kind of info.

I almost never go there.
And I’m supposed to be checking everywhere. I should likely look into that.

Sheesh...
I was looking for a Panther win this week…

good point
This is one time a Panthers win would really help.

After the last two weeks
And looking at the Cards’ sked, even with a loss to the Panthers and us, they’re looking at 10-6 or 11-5 unless they lose to GB @ home, @CHI, AND MIN @ home (and they’re good enough to win at least one of those games if not all three). Sure, with a W against Carolina, they’ve got only 4 losable games left (the three above and us), and they’re a shoe in for 10-6 and will probably earn a first round bye, but… they’re going to the playoffs. We just need to worry about ourselves… which includes our draft picks for next year. Go Cards!

Giving up so soon?
We’re not even halfway through the season! Injuries and luck can turn some of those easy AZ wins into potential upsets. One good shot to Warner (not that I’m necessarily advocating such a thing) and the Cards could suddenly be in jeopardy.
Don’t count the Niners out yet. If we don’t win the Division title, then maybe we can grab a Wild Card slot.

Not giving up
Just looking at reality. Arizona is a good team and they play 2 teams that are currently better than 0.500 for the rest of the year. They will get to 10-6 or better. As I said, we just need to worry about ourselves and get to double digit wins. If we do, we’ve got a good shot at a wild card.

We need one good win from him!
Cards are up in the division. Without a miracle win at Indy, we could be 2 games down.

LOL
And with the 3rd pick in the NFL Draft. The 49ers by way of trade from of the Panthers pick…. That was an awesome trade that is paying off.

So torn about this week. Carolina losing is a win for us…but this week, carolina winning is also a win for us. This would be a lot easier if Carolina hadn’t won yet. But eh, either way. If we take care of our own business, then it doesn’t matter what the Cards do. A high pick will be nice.

Works either way
Jake is due for one decent or lucky game, where the DB misses the INT and it lands in the hands of a WR for a Carolina TD. Might as well get that here, then stay in the lineup to lose more games. Of course if he’s usual Jake, our draft position with that pick keeps going up.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.

tough call
I’m thinking I’ll throw up a post about that tomorrow or Friday. I suppose it can be viewed as either win-win or lose-lose…or maybe win-lose? Or possibly win-lose-win?

I feel really conflicted about this one, but if I think about it...
I’m hoping that Delhomme actually blows the doors off the Cards so that John Fox can justify continuing to play him for multiple weekends in a row in which he keeps throwing the INTs that have put them on the losing track so far.
