Golden Nuggets: A veritable potpourri of Smith, Manning, Crabtree and so forth
We find ourselves a day away from the showdown with Indianapolis and the links are quite the mish-mash of articles. Given that many folks focus on college football on Saturday I suppose we get a few more feature articles than normal. After all the build-up, it's always interesting to hear a bit more about other aspects of the team as opposed to just breaking down matchups.
I find the Tony Pashos articles particularly interesting. Pashos used to play for the Jaguars and so he has seen plenty of the Colts defensive line. Although Pashos is on injured reserve, and out for the season, he took the time to put together video of the Colts d-linemen so the 49ers offensive linemen would be better prepared for tomorrow. I find this all the more interesting given Pashos' 1-year contract. He might be back in 2010, but there's no reason to think one way or the other. So it's certainly a plus that he is still finding a way to contribute.

Something
I don’t know what, but something has me feeling an upset coming along this Sunday. Our O-Line is struggling and our defense has been lacking, but I still feel a strong performance coming tomorrow at Indy.
Hopefully that feeling of upset isn’t my gut telling me how upset it will be tomorrow after the 49ers get trounced, but I’ve got a good feeling about the 49ers surprising us all tomorrow. Maybe even with the help from someone unexpected.
Plus, the Lions game got blacked out and the SF @ IND game should be picked up as the National game on my local fox station so I won’t have to watch the game on my computer! Yipee!

I think Fox will give you NYG-Philly
Two huge markets, and they can hype the World Series game that night between those two cities.
But I too have this feeling that we are not losing three in a row. This team will will itself to a win, and play well in all phases.

They swapped it a few weeks back in anticipation of the W.S.
Fox switched it with MIN-GB so Philly wouldn’t have a football game and baseball game separated by 30 minutes, so here in the Bay Area we’ll get the Packers game as the second of the double-header, since Oakland is on the road. I’m happy about that as I hope GB beats Favre.

Oh, ya cool
Looks like I get the Niners game here in Phoenix. Also the Carolina game and the Packers-Minn game. Nice football lineup.

Sounds like Raye has a little Herm Edwards in him...
"I think the illusion of what happened the second half of the Houston game has everybody, or most people thinking that we’ve discussed this new mecca or utopia kind of deal," Raye said.
If I decipher that doozy correctly, it sounds like Raye is really trying to lessen expectations about Smith.
