Michael Crabtree agrees six-year deal with the 49ers
He hasn't signed yet, but the hold-out is over, and a deal is done.
I am probably the only Niners Nation member currently awake, and in front of a computer, so I figured I'd get a Fan Post up. If Fooch wants to move it to the front page when San Francisco wakes up, that's cool (and could delete the italics). If you want to delete this and get an official post up, that's cool too. But for now, I figured it would be somewhere to discuss it (possibly with myself ...)
Matt Maiocco is reporting that Crabtree has agreed a six-year deal, which will void to five if he has a couple of good years. Barrows reporting similar.
The 49ers have a new weapon in their offense, and the lengthy, tedious and at times bizarre hold-out is at an end. Over to Coach Singletary to decide how this young man fits in, and where he goes from here ...
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

This is good news
You are not the only one up. I have relocated myself to Switzerland for the next few weeks. So Niners Nation now has at least two overseas readers.
I think this is good news, not because I think Crabtree will help improve our offense (he probably will later this season when we will need to pass the ball), but I can now (hopefully) quit reading countless articles about when he will sign or why he won’t sign. As a devoted Niners fan I could not bring myself to avoid reading these articles. I just had to know what was happening.
Sorry - did as new post, see reply below ...

Agreed ...
… and nice to have another Euro Niner on here, De Stijl. He obviously has the skills to improve us, otherwise we wouldn’t have taken him with our first pick, and I just hope other posters on this site are correct when they say that Singletary will prevent him disrupting team unity. Having MC Hammer in your entourage – heck, having an entourage – does nothing to dismiss the feeling that you are a diva. I really hope Coach Sing nails that, and Jimmy Raye gets the most out of his new toy.
How’s Switzerland?

From Mexico
Not overseas, but still international! This is great news, I have been checking every morning before work, hoping for this to get done. Hopefully he gets to work and can contribute before the end of the season…….and dare I say……….playoffs!

Hammer
Don’t hate on Hammer he has been around the 49ers for years and last I remember he learned some tough life lessons about hanging around too big of an entrouge. Hammer is probally a good person for someone with “new” money to talk to based on his roller coster ride with his fortune and fame. FYI I’m only up because Miacco tweets to my cell phone woke me… J dog out lol

That's a cool wake-up call Mr Jesse!
… and I hear you on Hammer. He’s no match for Sing, anyways!
PiKAgiant – I tweeted Maiocco yesterday to ask the question of when Crabtree would play. He reckoned it wouldn’t take long at all for him to learn a few plays and get out there. My personal bet would be not Falcons, given that we then have a bye, so makes sense for him to focus on Houston. But what do I know!

Front page
I woke up to the signing and was so excited I wrote up a front page post without checking the FanPosts. My apologies. I’m gonna close the comments on this and the other initial signing FanPosts to keep the conversation in one area. Thanks LondonNiner for getting this up.
And indeed Johnnysixnut, it is Hammer Time!
