Golden Nuggets: Win or bust
Mooorning, folks. I'm writing this a couple hours early as I have to get plenty of sleep for the game today. I'll be showing up quite a few hours early, as usual, just long enough to actually begin thinking positively for this game. Don't get me wrong, I haven't given up on this team and I don't think I ever will, but I just don't feel so good about this season anymore. Still, as always, I should be yelling until my throat gives out. I want it to be like the Rams game or the Seahawks game, when not only could I not speak but I also found it hard to grip anything--the guys surrounding me give pretty vicious high fives, ya know? On Sunday I didn't get many opportunities to do that, my hand was left un-fived. I'm getting more and more tired so I'm just going to get to your links.

Isaac Bruce wont be suiting up today--but WR Jason Hill will. Bruce allegedly hurt his ankle in practice, but methinks the 49ers just want Hill. (PressDemocrat.com)

I don't really follow how this is getting weird, but I guess it is. I sort of figured confidence was a given before a game? Guess not. (SFGate.com)

I'm totally with you on the Davis comments
In what way is what he said controversial? What he said kind of passed me by, but I saw something about him having to explain himself, then his team-mates were asked about it, then Singletary had to defend it. Then I finally found out what he said, and I thought: “That’s it?” That’s a news story? He thinks they will destroy Chicago? That’s trash talk isn’t it? I heard Joey Porter the other week telling Total Acess he “hates New England”. That one seemed to be treated as a joke, and it’s worse than what VD said. Non-story.
I’m not gonna be with my friends at Niners Nation tonight. The game for me is going to start at half-past midnight, and end at 3.30, 4am, and I need to leave for work by about 7am, so I will need to sleep. My plan is to get up at 5am, an hour or so after the game has finished, and watch the game at 2 x normal speed on Sky+ (our TIVO) before leaving for the office. If anyone’s still up at that time, I might post. Otherwise, go Niners, and go NinersNation.

Thursday is already here!
I thought it would take forever but today is here. Wilbon made a joke on PTI last night about how the Bears haven’t won a game in San Francisco since 1985 and the point differential is 155-3.
I don’t care what the score is, as long as the 49ers win! I endorse VD’s comments win or lose and here’s why: 1. He didn’t talk about making the playoffs, he’s focused on this week’s game; 2. He’s a team captain and team captains have to have confidence in the players surrounding him; 3. He’s a beast.
Niners 23 Bears 20 – Nedney boots a game winning field goal after Alex Smith drives 57 yards in 1:34 at the end of the game, with Crabtree catching 3 passes for 33 yards on the final drive alone.

Wow
thats last drive you describe actually sounds pretty realistic but i think the niners will score more than 23 id have to say at least 30 chicagos defense isnt what it used to be, plus without urlacher they have been totally lost giving up points like christmas came early…I just hope alex doesnt commit many turnovers and goes out there and makes up for that bad game he had against the titans… 49ers-31 Bears-17 GO NIners!!!!!

Tonight
Well I see people are still counting us to win. I agree with that but I heard this before. We need a win like the WNBA needs an audience. I want a dubaya this week with conviction. That will be the cure all for all this BS. If we can’t win on Sunday , lets win on Thursday.
Must win!!!
If the Niners happen to lose tonight I think it’s safe to say that fans need to start thinking about next year. Another reason this is a must win is because I really don’t want to have to dress up in a pink Brittney Spears shirt and wear a skirt and cheer for the Bears for the next Bears game. I made this bet with a friend of mine at the beginning of the season. Here in Iowa, you are either a Bears or Vikings fan…or the occasional Chiefs or Rams fan when they’re doing good so I’m surrounded by Bears fans. If the Niners lose tonight, I won’t hear the end of it for the rest of the year. Go Niners!!!
My prediction is 27 – 20 Niners
