The '88 49ers Shuffle
Who remembers when the 49ers came out with their version of the Superbowl Shuffle? What better time to create a FanPost dedicated to some sort of shuffle or another, as the Niners lead by Coach Mike Singletary, take on his former team the Chicago Bears...
This is a must see for those of you who were too young to remember and to anyone else that may have never caught this video. This was created by some of the team post-Superbowl XXIII. Many know of or have heard of the Superbowl Shuffle (the original) with Fridge Perry, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon, and who else but our own Samuri Mike. There's been a few other teams that have tried to replicate this funny tradition and I find myself wondering how a Superbowl Shuffle would go like if this team finds themselves winning one in a couple to few years and who would lead them in song, or rap, or crunk...or whatever. VD? Frank the Tank?...maybe even Alex Smith? Somehow I find it hard to picture Smith not sounding completely..well...for lack of a better term "white". P Willy would definitely have to have a few verses but I think it would be fun to watch none the less
Anyway, I hope you all find this as entertaining and funny as I did. Enjoy.
There's some pretty creative people on NN, so if some of you all would like, feel free putting together some of your own lyrics using the 2009 49ers roster and key players.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Never saw this...
Those tight ass acid wash jeans are sweet!!!! I would say they resemble what New Edition would look like if they did steroids and lost all their rhythm…

I leave my rapping for when RBoogy comes around. I saw this video on NFLN today when they were showing America’s Game – 1988 49ers. Thank goodness the 80s are over, and that no team would dare try something like this ever again. Although, I would laugh if I saw Tom Brady or Petyon Manning rapping.

I think it would be funnier now than then
Just about every player in the NFL likes to think of themselves as musical artists on top of being athletes. I think teams should have kept that tradition going like the Gatorade bath thing.
They could do a more modern choreographed version with all the technology and stuff now. You can’t tell me that it wouldn’t be cool to watch Vernon Davis and Dashon Goldson krumping with their dreads flying all over the place in the background haha…
The team could put together something like this and maybe just have someone else doing the lyrics about the players

Obviously simplify some stuff for certain guys
Love this video ...
… thanks for posting. Made me laugh out loud. In fairness to the 88 Niners, it’s not like rap back then was any good – even the professionals were terrible. Ice T was around then, and maybe the earlier albums from Public Enemy and NWA, but there was an awful lot of hip hop dross in 1988. Kid N Play? Salt N Pepa? DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince? LL Cool J? Even Jerry Rice was better than those cats.

the entire movie is broken up into parts on youtube. I know you’ll watch this instead of the Niners game, but try not to.
here’s a quick preview if you don’t want to watch the 10 minute opening.

I want to laugh...
but I’m just overcome with the need to shake my head, cover my face with my palm and pretend like I never saw this.
If it’s that embarrassing to me, I can’t imagine how the guys in that video must feel.
"It came down like a punt, Coach!" - Josh Morgan
I wondered when it first came out,
Why no mention of the QB in the video.
