Game Notes, by Andrew Davidson
Apologies to Smileyman, I'm not trying to steal his thunder in any way here with my play-by-play log from last night's game. I just thought we could all get a laugh at my terrible game notes from last night. I couldn't include everything, as they were either just ticks in a column (QB pressures/QB hits, things of that sort) or contained far too much [site decorum] material. Please note that I'm claiming my play-by-play tracking to be 100% accurate, or holy. Again, I'm posting this simply with humorous intent.
NOTE: I do not do this for every game, only when asked to do a post game recap. In other words, this won't be a weekly feature (sorry to let you guys down). I will, however, post these any time I do game recaps, so I can LOL while you guys sit around thinking "WTF?".
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Thankfully
with no offense to you Andrew, I do not suffer from OCD and enjoy actually watching the game with a drink or two.

lol
like I said, I only did it because I knew I was doing a recap of the game. but I mean seriously, LOL at your comment. Well played.
I had as much fun watching the game like this than if I were just watching it without a pen and paper.

Cool
good to hear and I totally understand why you needed precise notes :)

I like the doodles
And I actually don’t do any kind of analysis until I rewatch it. During the game I’m having too much fun (or anguish depending on the situation) to think about things like that.

my recap would've been like this
-49ers WIN!
-Jay Cutler SUCKS!
-W00t
-San Fran offense is poop except for GORE!
If I had not kept track during the game. As you can tell though, I only wrote down formations a few times, and was pretty lazy keeping complete focus on what I was writing down.

Gives some perspective on how good the D is to do so well despite a crappy offense.

I don't think it makes that much of a difference
Though I guess they probably have to play more plays than most D’s do.

Haha; “Missed 39 YD FG (wtf?)”.
Nice work with all this.

You might have a future as a court recorder Andrew
This looks really promising. ;-)

The NOTE after halftime: corners missing, nearly ripped all notes...
Yea right,
you probably had some very artistic doodles in those corners, but they were so great that then u decided not to share with everyone and ripped them off
:)
I like that last comment about your calm writing at the end. I’m sure M.Lewis with the INT was very easy to write aswell.

when Lewis made that pick
I clapped so hard and made one solid “Yeah” so loud that I didn’t need any more celebrating. it was kinda funny, I didn’t do too much celebrating, just one hand-reddening clap and one throat-bursting “scream”. the game was too much of a potential “oh boy, we let another get away” that I didn’t feel the need to go nuts at the end.
believe me, I was freakin nervous.
the ripped corners happened when the Bears finally started marching on the final drive (after only 3 penalties), I yanked the paper off of the pad they were on and just about ripped them right in half because the corners got stuck. Luckily, my girlish strength only tore them slightly instead of all the way down the centre.

Or…ahem…some very revealing ones eh?

ok, that was unfair
it would be really cool if you were going to really track the games like this would be to track the formations… Offensive and Defensive. The results of the play are the one thing we can easily get from NFL.com (sigh… the first perl program I ever wrote was to download and parse NFL game books for a fantasy football league… we were one of the first crazy nut ball leagues to use individual defensive players!)
