Alex Smith Called His Own 2 min. drive!!!!
I know that this was addressed as a possibility in one of the previous Fan Posts, but I thought it needed its own shot. I can't believe that this is the case. It shows that he has matured quite nicely. If he was in this position a few years ago, he surely would have flopped. I think Jimmy should let him call his own plays a little more often.

Let's face it
It’s not hard to out perform Jimmy Raye in play calling duties according to most in 49erland. The fact that this was the best drive the team had all day almost makes me want to jump on the Jimmy Raye bash-bandwagon.
The only problem I have with Jimmy Raye is his inability to call a different running play. Same motion, same line assignments, same RB dive every time. He needs more variety in the running game, and not the 2.3 yards and a cloud of febreeze dives. Gore has ripped off his big TD runs up the middle, so I’m not saying scrap it completely, but for Pete’s Sake Jimmy, there’s a such thing as an Off-Tackle or Counter-Trap.

That explains...
… why that was the one drive that was completely dominated by pass plays. I’m too lazy to look it up again, but there was MAYBE one run on the whole drive?
