Yorks and the Snyders Go away

Glaring similarities with the ownership of  two teams.  Flailing offenses decent defenses and no wins.  The roots at the top are rotted with the excuses of "we are getting there and rebuilding."  Coaching is weak.....not motivational end.....but the execution end.  The firings need to start with the personnel department and then the Yorks need a long vacation. 3 or 4 years.  You are not doing the system any favors.  This is the NFL, there are 17 games and you need to have winners 17 weeks. Go away, I hate being related to a team that thinks they are better than they are.

Actually there are only 16 games over a 17 week period for each team

The Yorks have gotten better and by putting Eddie Jr (Jed) in as President they are totally supporting the team.
If you don’t like the Yorks or the coaches.. you may want to root for the Raiders.

The 49ers are at 4-6 right now...

The Raiders are at 3-7.

Well, we're waiting....

Raiders/49ers

I realize the two teams are one game apart, but do you really think they’re that close as organizations? The 49ers ownership might make mistakes but I don’t think they come close to being as awful as Al Davis has become. And while the 49ers are struggling, I do see them going in the right direction. The Raiders just seem to be circling the drain much of the time (even if they have won 3 games).

by David Fucillo on Nov 23, 2009 12:53 PM PST up reply actions

I just hate touting poor win loss record as we are going in the right direction. we have a loosing record. embarrassed now more than ever by not signing crabtree sooner…….it comes from the top down. accept it, change it and get better.

by zonedogs on Nov 23, 2009 1:01 PM PST up reply actions

crabtree

I still have no problem with the handling of Crabtree from the 49ers end. If they gave him more than slot they’d have set themselves up to be screwed by future 1st round picks for the foreseeable future.

by David Fucillo on Nov 23, 2009 1:09 PM PST up reply actions

Not only first round picks...

… but also any contract negotiations (extensions or new FA’s), as well.

by sfgfan on Nov 23, 2009 3:14 PM PST up reply actions

And Crabtree ended up signing

for pretty much what we wanted. He got a little more guaranteed but we got an extra 2 (well 1 1/2) years. I was happy with the way that contract dispute played out.

by smileyman on Nov 23, 2009 3:28 PM PST up reply actions

The Crabtree situation was rather..tenuous

if the Yorks as you wish to designate them but I’d more say the Front Office would have caved in then there would have as Fooch noted a problem given to the entire NFL. This is really I would say a silly and narrow viewpoint if you look at the health of both the 49ers organization and the NFL as a whole. There was a need for a stand, the stand was made. The repercussions needed to be handled and handled properly. Were they perfect? No probably not. Were they as best as could be done given the circumstances? Pretty close.

by ChesapeakeBay9er on Nov 23, 2009 6:23 PM PST up reply actions

I don't think they are that far away from each other..

John York fired Mooch over petty differences, and the 49ers have been in a tailspin since. They had FO power issues as well. They don’t like to admit mistakes like Davis does either, and everything they do is a knee jerk reaction because they have failed prior. You can’t make excuses for Davis, who is a pioneer of Modern Football for his foolishness. But Jed and Co. are a collective of people who think they know better, but don’t.

I mean, as dysfunctional as the Raiders are, they are only one win less than the 49ers this season. They make a change at QB, and they win a game. Both teams have HC’s that are fiery yet inexperienced with no coordinator experience prior. They both bank on the charisma of their coaches. They both try to run offenses that don’t suit the personnel. They both need new Stadiums. They both will make HC changes in the next 2 years.

Well, we're waiting....

by drummer on Nov 23, 2009 1:25 PM PST up reply actions

Firing Mooch was a mistake.. but.. they have grown as owners since then.

I like that Jed York is now President and he wants the 49ers to win and will support them 100%.

Knee-jerk analysis: The BEST kind of analysis!

And while we’re on the subject of knee-jerk analysis and similarities between the Niners and the Raiders, here’s a fun thought… You know who ELSE believes in firing a head coach quickly? Here’s a hint: His name rhymes with Pal Mavis.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

by JRPhillips on Nov 24, 2009 2:49 PM PST up reply actions

Cal Mavis?

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Nov 24, 2009 4:15 PM PST up reply actions

No, crap! Mavis doesn't rhyme with Mavis.

Cal Cavis?

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Nov 24, 2009 4:16 PM PST up reply actions

SO close!

Obviously I’m referring to the great Hal Smitkowskavis.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

by JRPhillips on Nov 24, 2009 4:34 PM PST up reply actions

GAAAAAH!

I should have known!

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Nov 24, 2009 4:37 PM PST up reply actions

I don't really see many similarities between the Yorks and Snyder,

The Yorks haven’t played the BIGGEST FREE AGENT WHERE’S MY CHECKBOOK game the way Snyder is notorious for doing, and the Yorks ceded power of the team to… well… yeah, another York… but they did it because they were failing and wanted to put the team under the control of somebody who might not.

Snyder has done no such thing.

And it really is too early to discuss Jed as either a success or a failure.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Nov 23, 2009 1:26 PM PST reply actions

Ha

I was thinking Adam Snyder for awhile

by bignerd on Nov 23, 2009 1:34 PM PST up reply actions

Me too when I saw the title

I actually think Eddie Jr is doing a pretty good job running the team.

by smileyman on Nov 23, 2009 2:46 PM PST up reply actions

I am excited as Jed looks to be wanting to carry on in his Uncle's tradition.

I’d be more excited if Jed took a vacation and brought Adam Snyder with him! ALL EXPENSES PAID!!!

by JRPhillips on Nov 24, 2009 2:56 PM PST up reply actions

Make me the owner

I only need $100k to live comfortably for the rest of my life. I’ll put the rest into the team.

Me thinks

You are overestimating your worth!

Judgment day is coming!

by Widowwolf on Nov 23, 2009 6:15 PM PST up reply actions

Bah humbug

I can write checks just as easy as Jed York can.

by smileyman on Nov 23, 2009 6:20 PM PST up reply actions

Inflation?

Many years ago (early 60s) I thought $10,000 a year was enough to make me comfortable for the rest of my life. Now it would buy coffee and maybe donuts, but not much more.

by CorneliusJ on Nov 23, 2009 4:09 PM PST reply actions

I figure that running the team

has got to be worth some extra. If they paid my mortgage off I could actually live comfortably on 15-20k a year.

by smileyman on Nov 23, 2009 4:23 PM PST up reply actions

Are you married with children?

They take a lot of $$$, especially when the rug-rats get to college age.

by CorneliusJ on Nov 23, 2009 6:14 PM PST up reply actions

One kid

15 mos old.

College is a long way off. You forget that I live in Idaho—cost of living is waay cheap here.

by smileyman on Nov 23, 2009 6:20 PM PST up reply actions

My daughter is 22.. You should plan for college and other things NOW.

Also, your little one may want to go to Stanford or Cal… cost big money for that.

I hate being related to a team that thinks they are better than they are.

Perhaps you should call the team and have a heart to heart with them. It’s better for the team to hear it from a family member that they’re really not as good as they think they are.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

THE YORKS ARE LOSERS AND ALWAYS WILL BE LOSERS

One thing that Jed and his stupid father have proven is they know how to lose and have zero clue what to do to win..Eddie D won 10 games a year for 17 years straight, the Yorks have proven that they will lose at least 9 games for 17 straight years with no end in site..

These idiots along with Scott(I know how to pick mediocre players with top ten picks) McCloughan have proven for 7 straight years that they know how to put a losing and boring product on the field..

If you 49er fans think the Yorks will ever put a winning product on the field, you are delusional..Jed and John realize you suck and sell the team to someone that has vision and can afford to hire the right people..

HEY YORKS WE LAUGH AT YOUR FOOLISHNESS AND STUPIDITY..SELL THE TEAM AND PUT US ALL OUT OF OUR MISERY!!!

by The Sear on Nov 25, 2009 8:22 AM PST reply actions

DON'T FLATTER THE YORKS WITH DAVIS COMPARISONS

All Davis is a pioneer in the NFL and has rings to show for it..He has a history of winning in this league..

The Yorks have proven one thing only, that they can put a losing, boring team on the field..

Compare the Yorks to the worst owners in the history of the game, not someone that has won super bowls..

THE YORKS HAVE NEVER EVER HAD AN 8-8 SEASON MUCH LESS WINNING..THIS IS 8 YEARS IN A ROW OF LOSING AND THERE IS NO END IN SITE..

Anyone who compares the Yorks to any other owner that has had one winning season in the NFL is a fool..

THE YORKS ARE AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE NFL OWNERSHIP FOODCHAIN..IT DOESN’T GET ANY WORSE THAT THE YORKS EVER!!!

by The Sear on Nov 25, 2009 8:28 AM PST reply actions

Why was this comment made?

Nobody cares.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

Anyone here remember what franchise set an NFL record with consecutive 11 loss seasons? Anyone? Anyone?

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

by JRPhillips on Nov 25, 2009 9:43 AM PST up reply actions

my comparisons were made in similar to the snyders in washington. Al Davis is just old and dumb. Not pompous and ignorant. It is about thinking you are better than you are…..mentaility of the Yorks and Snyders.

by zonedogs on Nov 25, 2009 11:05 AM PST up reply actions

I’m really curious if there’s any particular event that occurred that made you decide Jed is pompous. Did he forget to tip you, or is it more devious than that?

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

by JRPhillips on Nov 25, 2009 9:32 PM PST up reply actions

You don't think...

… Al Davis thinks he’s better than he is? The guy continues to run a team while repeatedly running it into the ground. His way goes, even if it repeatedly leads to failure. I’d say that lends to ignorance, as well, no?

by sfgfan on Nov 30, 2009 3:10 PM PST up reply actions

WHO WILL WIN 9 GAMES FIRST, THE RAIDERS DEFINITELY

I would put my money on the Raiders having a winning season before the 49ers will..Davis will spend the money necessary to make it happen..

The Yorks have proven that they have zero clue what it takes to put a winning season together..Even Singletary will realize it soon and resign..The only question is will the Yorks lose for as many years in a row as Eddie D won 10 games in a row..Thats 17 years, the 49ers are now on 8 years in a row of being irrelevant and losers with no end in site..

by The Sear on Nov 25, 2009 8:37 AM PST reply actions

Great point. Let’s make sure to ask Dan Snyder how his “spending the money necessary” has worked for him. Heck, let’s ask Al how it’s worked for him since 2002!

You make compelling arguments, Sears.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.
