49ers open as 3 point favorites against Jacksonville
If I wasn't a 49ers fan I have to say I'd be throwing down heavy on the Jacksonville Jaguars at this point. The 49ers-Jaguars line has opened with the 49ers as a 3 point favorite. As we've discussed before, the home team automatically gets 3 points. So this sort of means bookies are thinking the two teams are on relatively equal footing.
Personally I think this is a very winnable game, but I also have reached a point where I really don't know what 49ers team will show up. Will the bend but don't break defense learn to tackle before Sunday, or will Maurice Jones-Drew bounce off would-be tacklers like a pinball? The Jaguars have one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL (#1 according to FO as of last week) and the 49ers defense has been inconsistent with the running backs. If the team can't contain MJD, it could be a long day.
As for recent trends for both teams:
- Jacksonville is 2-6 straight up in its last 8 games on the road
- The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Jacksonville's last 8 games on the road
- San Francisco is 2-2-2 against the spread in its last 6 games
- San Francisco is 1-5 straight up in its last 6 games

We also don't know which Jaguars team will show up
Yesterday’s team played very badly until the last drive. In New York they played 1 good and 1 lower then average half.
I think because the Jags don’t played so well Sunday there is a chance that the good Jags show up.
BUT; last time when the Jags were on the west coast we were beaten 0-41 by the Seahawks….
So don’t know what you can expect from us.
I know one thing: Maurice Jones-Drew have a SPECIAL MOTIVATION on this sunday. He not played so well on last sunday; he will on this sunday.
I think there will be 2 key matchup in this game:
Maurice Drew vs the fantastic Patrick Willis
and
the very good Vernon Davis vs SS Sean Considine(he hadhis best match as a pro;vs the Jets; and 1 good game ;yesterday against the Bills he hasd an interception; in the last 2 weeks)
These 2 matchups could decide how the game will be decided on Sunday

Mike Sims-Walker is also dangerous
Another key matchup:
Our pathetic LMAO-Line vs. Jacksonville’s pathetic pass rush.
If they can’t pass block against those scrubs then the season is lost.
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Yeah
I herad the O-line is not the best in San Fransisco.
I have a good news to cheer you up Niners fans: our best CB (maybebest Defensive player)
Rashean Mathis will miss this sunday’s game too; HC Jack Del Rio said it just recetly.
I have more even bigger fears from Davis; Crabtree and co then I already had…

Interesting
I’d recommend blitzing.
Blitzing off the edge is always very effective vs. SF.

GB was killing us with that
until Harris and Kampman got hurt. Then they didn’t have the coverage to be able to blitz.
Niners can't complain
Gamblers can’t trust an inconsistent team. The only solid bet for the Niners is to take them on the road; I think they’ve covered the spread in all with one tie. That’s where Vegas underrates them.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
I actually thought we were going to be underdogs
But given how the Jags barely beat the Bills…..

I thought they finished the Jets off pretty well
But yeah, at least they’re winning close games though…..

blueprint for jags success
you can have every pass within about 20 yards. our DB’s will be a full 10 yards behind your receivers. After the catch, just keep running. We will flail about in a futile effort to tackle you. You will gain big yardage.
Sit back in the pocket for at least 5 seconds. Don’t worry. You won’t have company. The pocket is all yours.
On Defense, just rush 3. That’s plenty to disrupt our pass blocking. Oh, and just cover the deep routes. We can’t complete many short passes anyways. You don’t even need to cover Delanie Walker. His routes don’t fool anyone. Just double Davis and Crabtree. Besides, Smith will probably be running around like a chicken with his head cut off anyways.
OK obviously I’m being sarcastic but thus far these are the things we’ve seen. So let’s hope my little bit of satire doesn’t ring true.
very funny stuff...

If we don't beat the jags it's time to pack it up this season
These next three games are the most important must win games of the season if we go three straight wins we are on top of the NFC west 49ers next three games JAX, SEA, ARI. Cards next three games TEN, MIN, SF. Certainly harder for the cards. I see cards losing both TEN, MIN and hopefully 49ers beating them Monday night :)
