Here's the third open thread for the 49ers-Jaguars matchup. Andrew Davidson will be in the house after the game with the recap shortly after the game. Our final thread will open up at 3:45pm. Also, I've created an Alex Smith (over) reaction FanPost so we can keep the Alex Smith discussion focused either in the recap or in a single FanPost.

Dropped passes, and missed opportunities
I’ve counted 7.
6 drops, and 1 missed opportunity by Jason Hill who inadvertantly slipped.
As good as Smith has played, 7 is too many in my opinion. smith has bailed the team out on several from what i’ve seen…

Garrard racks up so many yards every week without actually managing to score. He has a PR over 100 right now.

has NO pass rushing skills.
His only weakness
yea, but if you watch him on blitzes he never really beats anyone 1 on 1
He always trys to juke the lineman or just run around them
He isn't asked to rush that much
You HONESTLY think Bam Bam couldn’t get to the QB if he was told to?

He cant get to the QB. Watch him blitz. He merely takes up a blocker and keeps containment. Doesnt really get much pressure though….

I actually kinda agree with you on this.
His speed and acceleration really show up on delayed blitzes. He shoots gaps like nobody else.

Despite the lack of turnovers, we were near the best in the league at defending passes over 20 yard with roman at FS.

Even Smith’s exceptional qb play isn’t enough to help the run game.
This offensive line is just plain awe-ful, and it’s been like this throughout the entire game. Good thing the 49ers D came to play today.
