Week Eight Prediction Games: The Surprising Results
- I'm speechless. If you want to know why, go ahead and take a look at the results for the Texans game.
- I have, like, 700 other things that I need to do tonight, some of which actually involve my future.
Therefore, you get no ramblings. Check out the scores, though. And then double-check them out. Data entry is not an exact science, no matter how many nano-bots I have the Borg inject directly into my bloodstream.

Uh... wow. Just wow. I mean, I know I've been complaining about the games being harder to predict this year, but that's a really messed up way to restore the balance. Especially since I didn't get any of the cut. Not any of it! I made a good prediction in that Texans game, darnit! And no points! Lame.
So danknerd49, rlott#42, PHUT!, JoeO, BEETLE49715, shlecko: congratu-fudgy-lations. I mean, honestly, good job. Great job, really. PHUT!, JoeO, and shlecko made their strikes to get up with the leaders, and danknerd49, rlott#42, and BEETLE49715 bounded into the thick of the pack, where - as we can see - anything can happen.
You have to like what bignerd and 5-0 are doing. In a tumultuous week, both of them did more than hold tight after forgetting to claim their apparently free perfect scores in the Texas game - they moved up in the rankings.
What can you say about ro128487? He's in first. La-dee-fudging-da.
Silently, almost sneakily, Ninerfromacrossthepond is moving up. This guy has won the games before, and it looks like he's just heating up right now.
Fooch and beecharmer also had good weeks - and beecharmer only JUST got the predictions posted in time (10:00 a.m. timestamp!).
If I missed you, I'm sorry. As I said, I'm kind of rushed. Which is another good reason to double-check your scores!
And next week you guys are going down.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

The Saints killed me
If they could have just run out the clock I would have been only 6 out on that game and would have received probably 3 points. Instead they fumble, Atlanta kicks the FG, and I only get 1 point. Oh well. That’s all part of the game. 7 points is still not bad and I did finally crack the top 15 a full 3 weeks ahead of schedule.
Don't trust this guy. He lies.

Ah, a 3-point week
Home sweet home.
Also, you guys totally were all just copying me by making perfect predictions. I made a perfect prediction before it was cool.

Yup
It was all luck for me… but I will take luck as I slowly climb upwards, though I am still quite a ways from the top

PERFECT SCORE ON TEXANS SCORE ALSO
I just want to say your doing an outstanding job of keeping up with all the entries and tabulating the numbers, Is there anyway you can give me my predections for the first 7 weeks as my dog got to my cards on my work desk after my cat got them off my desk all I need is the scores.
just give the numbers in order of the teams they were listed, I don’t need the teams I have them on my pc where I will keep my records from now on or is there a place on the site I can find them. THE NINER’S WIN THE DIVISION…..BOOK IT DANO
by BEETLE49715 on Nov 4, 2009 9:19 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
The easiest way would just be to go to all of the prediction threads and search for your name. I don’t have the time, tbph, but if you want to, simply search “prediction games” in the search box, and bring up each thread for every week from this season.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

predictions
Howtheyscored is rather busy with some stuff so here’s what I’d recommend:
1. Go to http://www.ninersnation.com/search
2. Type in Week 7 prediction games (change the number for each week of the prediction contest)
3. When the results come up, click on the FanPosts tab and scroll through that.
I just don’t howtheyscored to have to go back and find individual scores whenever somebody needs them. This will allow you to take care of it yourself. It’s not a quick process, but it’s something you can do.

well I guess I can't complain about 6 points
especially when I only picked three winners right. I feel like I’m really sucking at this so I’m kinda surprised I’m still in the top 10. I need to get my stuff together.
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
by wjackalope on Nov 4, 2009 10:47 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
I was well shocked to see I scored pts in 5 games
I thought I would be lucky to get points in 3games let alone 5 to pick up 11pts in total.
Only 7pts off a play-off spot now which is my aim to defend my title.
by Ninerfromacrossthepond on Nov 4, 2009 6:11 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
The thing I like about the 10 point perfect prediction reward is that, even in a week like this, when it SHOULD by all means screw up the entire board, it still didn’t ruin the balance of point distribution. Even when a game went into wild outlier territory, the system still worked. I am pleased.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

yay for us
we are so smart for designing such a perfect prediction game
