Around SBN: Blogger Q&A - And The Valley Shook

Thanks 49ers fans

I wanted to wait a couple of days after the game to thank you 49ers for some great blogging leading up to last Sunday's contest. While I and many other Colts fans are still livid that your coach has to resort to cheating to try and steal a ballgame, that doesn't mean we think the 49ers are "bums," or that you fans are. Many of us just think your coach misrepresents you. That's just our opinion.

And before some of you chime in suggesting it wasn't cheating; yes, it was. There is an NFL rule against doing feigning injuries. The problem is the rule is hard to enforce, and since so few NFL teams do it anymore, the league doesn't issue any "point of emphasis" type edicts on it. It's because it is so rare, and so frowned upon, that fans like me blast Singletary for attempting it when his team is so obviously struggling to keep up with the hurry-up. I have a strong belief in the integrity of the game. Without integrity, the game is meaningless. And when people's actions question the game's integrity (be they players who take steroids or coaches you violate league rules), when they do that (in my view) they piss in the faces of honest fans who shell out hard-earned money in a tough economy.

Sorry for the morality lesson. I just wanted you all to know where I come from.

But, that aside, it was a well played game overall between two tough teams. I think your 49ers are on the up-and-up, and will likely make some noise in December of this year. Best of luck, and thank you for all the great writing Fooch, the NN writers, and fans like you did.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

Cheating....

that is laughable. I like to see you say that to Sing’s face.

To be fair, I’d be scared to say anything to Singletary’s face, even something as simple as “I disagree with your decision to switch quarterbacks mid-game”.

That guy is tough. And his cross probably would cut in several places.

There were two leg cramps

Two of them! To suggest that the coaches were sending signals in to do so is the part that gets me so pissed off. How do you know the players didn’t come up with the “fake” injuries on their own? How do you know the players didn’t actually suffer leg cramps?

Takeo Spikes didn’t practice much leading up to the game, and you don’t think his body was drained and he could’ve suffered a legit leg cramp? Parys Haralson was constantly smashing into OL trying to create a pass rush, you don’t think he could actually suffer a leg cramp?

I don’t know if you’ve ever played football, and I don’t care, but leg cramps are extremely painful. When you have to get off the ground and run back to a spot on the field to avoid being offside, your calves take a beating when a team is in the hurry up. You have no evidence to suggest the 49ers were “cheating” or that the coaches were “signalling”. I don’t care what any broadcaster said, home town or not.

And why haven’t you even addressed Joseph Addai’s hand injury during the hurry up that didn’t allow the 49ers to substitute? Or what about the missed offsides call by the ref on Michael Crabtree’s fumble, surely Indianapolis paid off the refs.

You’ve honestly left a bad taste in my mouth as representative of an otherwise formidable fan base. You could’ve redeemed yourself by apologizing for your lack of professionalism in calling Singletary a bum, but instead you try to gloss us over with a “Thanks for a great week, we don’t mean you guys or your teams a bum, just your HC”. Us 49ers, we’re a family, if you call one of us a bum, you call of us a bum. I know things can be heating, so originally I was going to take the whole thing with a grain of salt.

However, this lack of apology makes me want to take with a “grain” of 2X4s up aside your BBS servers.

To be fair, though, Singletary was clearly audibling injuries from the sideline. You can clearly see him grab his leg and signal to Spikes.

That's not cool...

to come in with a statement like “Thanks 49ers Fans” and then completely rip our coach. I know you said the fans and team are great, but c’mon. I think it’s kind of a low blow. I was happy with the interaction up to the game. I was glad we can have that kind of stuff. But next time, title your thread “Thanks 49ers Fans, Your Coach is an (site decorum).”

Then I wouldn’t be so upset at the post.

BigBlueShoe,

Don’t come here and try to act classy by complimenting all of us after acting like a disrespectful, whiny fan. What annoys me about your post about Singletary is how you act as if it is a fact that he made the players cheat. How can you be so sure that he cheated? There is absolutely ZERO concrete evidence that Singletry did anything to cheat. There were 2 cramps throughout the entire game. Maybe they were real, maybe they were fake. Maybe they were fake but it was Spikes’ and Harrylson’s decisions to fake the injuries. Hell, it is entirely possible that Singletary told them to do it. But at the end of the day there is no evidence either way, so making such harsh accusations is rather disgusting. I would have had no issue if you speculated that Singletary cheated, but the matter in which you talked about the situation was very immature. You sound like a 6 year old who lost his candybar and blindly accuses one of his classmates of stealing it.

Ultimately, I judged the situation by looking at Singletary’s character. I have never heard any legitimate football mind say anything bad about Singletary. Every football analyst talks about how hard working, caring, and respectful he is. Mike Ditka, someone who know Singletary very well, speaks of Singletary as if he is the greatest man on earth. He just doesn’t seem like the type of person who would cheat

Whoops... had to site-decorum-delete my own post!

I’m not going to comment a lot about the cramps (or "cramps" if you like). I don’t really know what the deal was, but the timing was obviously suspicious and I think it was potentially a very ticky-tack move. On the other hand, I don’t know. These players and coaches don’t have any history that I know of of anything resembling that kind of weak activity, so I’m also willing to extend the benefit of the doubt.

Really, there’s not a lot to support either side.

What I really wanted to say was that, while I think it’s unfortunate that you came here at least in part to compliment us as a fanbase and are getting nothing but ire for the attempt, I also hope you understand that said ire is coming because the post you did end up making – intentions aside – consisted of four paragraphs that, excepting two whole sentences, were completely dedicated to [complaining] us out about our team. That wouldn’t go well anywhere, no matter how classy the fans are.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

Kinda lame to post a "thank you" post and rant about the "cheating" for the 4th time

I like your blog BBS but I have to say that I’ve lost some respect for you. Saying this:

And before some of you chime in suggesting it wasn’t cheating; yes, it was.

Is just silly. All you know is that there were leg cramps, you do not know for sure that they were faked, and you definitely do not know that Singletary called for them. So to viciously attack him like that is dirty on your part and I’m sure you won’t be okay with it if someone says the same about Jim Caldwell when the Colts suffer some leg cramps. Just try to put yourself in the other person’s shoes next time please, it’s easy to be a homer but your team isn’t the only one that matters.

by Brendan Scolari on Nov 4, 2009 9:39 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

Integrity of the game

You state you believe in it so perhaps you should have the same standard when it comes to writing/blogging. Taking two examples from one game, without directly questioning the coaches or players involved, then stating that the HC is a “bum” and “coward” shows that you are the one lacking integrity. To then come over to this blog and try to be above it while restating your garabge, well, you could also learn a lesson on class. So that’s two things you lack.

Barring a SB or pre-season game we don’t play for four years. I certainly wish your team more success than you in that time frame.

You gotta bring ass to get ass.

riiight

two cramps.. thats the only reason it was that close..
Hey, heres a thought.. MAYBE you’re “hurry up offense” is going to cause cramps in the opposing D.. huh?
Esp. a defense coming from the coast to play an early east coast game in an area of higher overall humidity.. no, no, you’re right, it MUST be cheating.. Colts announcers have no bias, so it MUST be true
It cant be because spikes is 33.. and your offense had the ball out there 34 minutes.. no..

Ive seen the ‘scientific breakdown’ the colt fans were doing.. comparing temperatures and deciding that the cramps couldnt be real because it was too cold (50) .. yeah, ever cramp for NO reason? now run for 2 hours.. maybe you’ll cramp too.

Why is there so much crying associated with Peyton Manning
 by rlott#42 on Nov 4, 2009 11:47 AM CST 0 comments

First there was the heisman hopeful in which Peyton layed a golden egg, then it was the punishing the Patriots continued to place on you year after year. Then the Chargers spanking you out of playoff contention. To add insult to injury Manning was handed the most undeserved Superbowl MVP in history. How many so- called all-time greats don’t have a TD pass and get to be MVP? Eli had better numbers and any other QB aside from Grossman, playing on either the winning team or loser has had better games than Manning onth e big stage. Is Manning just the best regular season QB, and the biggest choke artist in the history of so called great QB’s? Yeah right next to Marino. Sure he got a SB win and his regular season numbers are off the charts but doesn’t he choke in the big dance. You can rely on Manning all year but not in the playoffs? Is Manning overrated? He’s not winning the big one as often as he has been touted as having the greatest season of a QB. I get it Manning carries the team all season and when the Colts lose just blame the other players who can’t get paid because Manning has the bulk of your salary cap held up, so you should only point the finger at him, but you won’t. Fans are just as infatuated with this QB as the media, even though the Post season is not his stage to perform!

Okay I don't know what happened between you and BBS and quite frankly I don't give a damn.

However, there are all kinds of things that are factually wrong with this post. First off Manning threw a 53 yard TD pass to Reggie Wayne in the First Quarter of SB XLI. Second you say he was undeserving of the Super Bowl MVP Award? No, Tom Brady in Super Bowl XXVI was undeserving. (16/27 145 yards 1 TD) Manning, after struggling in the first quarter, completed over 76% of his passes and led the Colts to over 300 yards of offense over the final three quarters against the NFC’s Best Defense. He threw for 247 yards and 1 TD and completed over 65% of his passes. Sure those numbvers aren’t mind-boggling but Joe Namath and Tom Brady have won Super Bowl MVP Awards with numbers that don’t come anywhere close to that.

Second, Manning dominated the Chargers both times he played them in the playoffs. (2007: 33/48 (68.8%) 402 yards 3 TDs 2 ints. off of Wayne and Keith’s hands) (2008: 25/42 310 yards 1 TD) We lost 28-24 and 23-17. If that’s you’re definition of spanked than you and I must have different opinions on the English language. Manning’s numbers blow away even Dan Marino’s. He isn’t the reason the Colts have lost. From 199-2002 the reason the lost was b/c of marvin Harrison, 9 receptions total in three playoff games, and the fact that the Titans and Jets both had the ball for over 40 minutes. We lost to the Dolphins b/c our receivers couldn’t catch a cold (6 drops) and our run D totally broke down. (Tim Minor had 206 yards and 3 TDs. Who’s Tim Minor you ask, I have no idea.) In 2003 and 2004 they were beaten by a better team in the Patriots and both times played in conditions (a snow storm) that favored their strengths (Defense and running game) and went against ours. (Passing offense and Pass Rush)
In the Pittsburgh game, Manning got less time to throw than Tom Brady did in SB XLII. The last two seasons against the Chargers, in 2007 our pass rush was non-exsistent so that meant no defense and in 2008 the offense got no field position (starting inside the 10 in 7 out of 10 drives) couldn’t convet third and shorts, and the defense couldn’t get off the field on third down.

Harrison and Freeney actually hurt the cap more than Manning did the last two seasons as he agreed to rework his contract, TWICE, in order to save the Colts Cap Room. This year is the only season where his deal is semi-hurtful to the Cap, only b/c it’s the final year of his contract.

Manning has postseason records for most 300 yards games (6), most 400 yard games (2), most games with a perfect passer rating (1), biggest comeback in NFL History in a Conference Championship Game. (18 pts down.) Brady’s biggest comeback is 8 points down.
He does preform in the post season, yet his tema hasn’t.

Brady is more loved by the media than Manning. Just watch NFL Network andPN. It shouldn’t be too hard to find something on him.

In 2007 after the Patriots beat the Colts, BBS went on a tirade about them being sore winners. Does that sound familiar?

BBS also dismisses the Colts organization of lying about Peyton Manning’s second surgery. Sure he wished they were above-board, but then writes “lesson learned” and he leaves it at that. No huge rants there. And that WAS provable, unlike whether the cramps experienced by the Niners player were real or not.

His “Colts are pure as snow” and his high-horse cheaters and liars rants are worse then Jim Falwell’s moral majority back in the ’80s.

Keep the faith!

Dont I have the right to an opinion?

I do think they did it. Watching the tape again, it did look like those players flopped. You can accuse me of watching it with blue tinted glasses, but I saw what I saw from that tape and it looked eerily similar to teams that have performed similar stunts in the past (at a more rediculous rate however). Im not going to retract simply because you and the majority of niners nation say its histary.

A little is a bit of an understatement. BBS should represent us far better than he did the last few days.

Sure I can name a team

Tennessee Titans in 2006. The Colts had a good drive going and pacman jones gets injured, is carted off and comes back 2 plays later. the rest of the “injuries” the titans players sustained in that game were happening at a rediculous rate afterword (though they werent carted off). Obviously with the niners, it wasn’t to that extreme, but given that the Colts had a drive going, the niners having a lead, the amount of time left on the clock, and lack of humidity, it looked very similar.

what about Addai's "hand" injury

you guys haven’t mentioned that at all.

by Andrew Davidson on Nov 4, 2009 12:51 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

ill refer you back to mgrex (a poster on stampede blue) for that

he does a good job explaining it.

And I rewatched it to prove it.

Addai was hurt on a first down play, which was an incomplete pass to Collie, which could have been a fumble, and Addai jumped on the ball.

2nd down was a pass over the middle to Garcon, where Mike Hart (#32) was in the backfield with Manning. Addai was not on the field.

On the 3rd down, which everyone is complaining about, was a pass to Wayne, where the Colts substituted nobody on the play, which is completely legal to run a quick play. Addai was not on the field for 2nd down, so Addai never came out of the game for the 3rd down play.

Maybe you should know the facts before trumpeting false information.

Also, Addai never caused an injury timeout either. Stop using this play.

by metal_militia on Nov 4, 2009 1:09 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

so Addai never came out of the game for the 3rd down play

Was in the game on 3rd down? I’m confused.

by Andrew Davidson on Nov 4, 2009 1:12 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

so he was subbed out after the 1st down play

in which he was injured, then was subbed back in after the second down play? in other words, the Colts hurried him back in from the “injury” and the 49ers could not substitute like wise because it was a sub back in from an injury and not a regular sub.

I think that’s where the gripe lies. I don’t think it matters if the play went to Addai or not. The Colts subbed and the Niners didn’t get a chance to, because the Colts weren’t making a personnel sub, but a player returning from “injury”.

by Andrew Davidson on Nov 4, 2009 1:23 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

you misread what he said

Addai was never in on 3rd down since he was out on second down. Basically the cotls did not substitute for two plays after addai went down.

I apologize for the confusion

by metal_militia on Nov 4, 2009 1:35 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

That would explain it

If Addai went out on 1st down than the 3rd down situation would sense. It’s on replay tonight, hopefully they don’t edit the sequence out.

by bignerd on Nov 4, 2009 1:40 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

just for that third down i believe

I’m confused again. And to be honest, I don’t exactly care too much about it. Sorry if it seems like I’m giving you a hard time, I’m just overall confused about the situation in general.

LIAR

Addai did run off the field after 2nd down, the Colts immediately ran in a sub and executed a hurry up play to convert on 3rd down.

You can see the 49ers defense trying to switch personnel on the far side. That wasn’t legal, it was huge play and Colts got away with it. I knew I wasn’t nutz yelling at my TV Sunday.

I think Peyton Manning is overated at this point in his career and it’s my opinion that he’s on the back side of his career heading downhill. What is he 33? 34? A couple more years left and the Colts go back to another 50+ years of mediocrity

by Drew K on Nov 4, 2009 10:06 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

mediocrity is good for noone

but shouldn’t all the winning that the Colts have done make their fans more gracious when it comes to incidents like this? Particularly when their team has won the game?
I mean, if your team loses a close game due to a couple of tactics the legality of which is potentially sketchy, shouldn’t your response be, ‘’well we’re 6-1, but to lose a hard-fought game to a team that’s up and coming and being built the right way—that isn’t so bad.’ But then this post goes a-waaay the other way.
That’s what makes this post so ludicrous and classless.

Nice post

Please update us again in January when you are eliminated by the 8-8 Chargers…again.

I admit the Colts are probably the best team in the NFL right now and for the most of this decade right next to NE, but has only 1 ring and 1 SB appearance to show for it? The 49ers won a few with a HOF QB (ok actually 2 HOF QBs), a HOF WR and a HOF DB but the Colts had a future HOF QB, future HOF WR (Harrison), one of the top RBs in his prime (James) , another top WR (Wayne), Pro Bowl TE (Clark), an elite DE (Freeney) and an elite S (Sanders).

Colts’ fans must know the Heimlich maneuver really well with all the choking they’ve witnessed in past Januaries…

BBS is a complete tool. As a Texan fan we have been putting up with his holier than thou attitude, baseless accusations, and all around BS for years. He lives in a completely different universe where the definition of trolling is disagreeing with him…not posting purposely inflammatory BS on other teams blogs. He has ruined more honest football discussions than anyone I can think of. He recently threatened Texans fans that if we didn’t let him get his way he would not respond to questions and ban us from his blog….and that’s where I got directed here.

There aren’t many people who annoy me at so such a deep level as BBS. I generally try to ignore him, but he is such as asshat it’s hard to do that all the time.

Guys get cramps late in ballgames, and I don’t see how anyone could make such derogatory statements without anything other than speculation to back it up….but BBS does it all the time. If I was in his position I could understand being suspicious…and possibly even voicing them but to attack singleton as a coward and all that other mess is just inexcusable.

I just feel jealous that you only have to put up with him every so often, and not all the time like we do because we’re division rrivals. Best of luck to you guys the rest of the year.

Insult to Injury

By prefacing a post with Thanks doesn’t negate the fact that this was totally unessacary. Fooch was nothing but hospitable in answering questions and participating with you all at Stampede Blue as he always is with the opposing team. Then you come over here and trash this board by accusing our team of cheating as if winning wasn’t enough. Was it because you almost got beat? Was it because we did not allow your beloved QB to throw a TD? Or is it because you just flat out lack class? I suspect it’s the latter of all three but it could easily be all of the above…

It’s amazing to me that some internet blogger has more of a “strong belief in the integrity of the game” than a member of the NFL Hall of Fame- the guy he’s accusing of destroying it. If anybody in the NFL understands the importance of being honorable, it’s Mike Singletary. I think he’s proven that time and time again, and there are many other legends in the game who would be quick to attest to his character.

It’s also amazing to me that BBS thinks that a timeout on two plays would constitute “stealing a ballgame.” The 49ers defense played very well against Manning and had him off his game the entire time. It’s not like they were grasping for some desperate breath of mercy from him rolling over their defense all day, and had to cheat to stop him. That just wasn’t the case. It’s not rare for an eleven-year NFL veteran (who had been in limited practices due to an injury the week before) to get a leg cramp during a succession of fast-paced snaps. Not long after he left the game, you could see him in the back of a shot off the sidelines drinking a full bottle of Gatorade. I really don’t think they would go to this much effort and acting to save-face when it’s not necessary in the first place.

Finally, it’s amazing to me that BBS of all people would be giving us a self-described “morality lesson.” The same guy who insists on continuing to cry “Cheater!” on the opponents’ turf, after his team has already won the game. Why would I take morality lessons from a person like that?

Luckily I’ve been able to meet enough Colts fans in my life that I know that BBS is doing a poor job representing them, and that they are some of the classiest fans out there.

Mike Greenberg (of Mike & Mike in the Morning)

covered Singletary (along with Payton, and Jordan, etc) when he first broke into sports reporting in Chicago, before he moved on to ESPN.

Shortly after Singletary was named the interim HC last season, Greenberg said that “Mike Singletary was the MOST respected person he has EVER covered in sports.”

That’s ‘most’ and ‘ever.’

Pretty high praise from a diehard Jets fan.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, some IDIOT on a blog can get away with calling such an honrable and respected man as Mike Singletary a BUM, because a few of his players suffered ‘injuries’ during the no-huddle offense being run by the Indianapolis Colts.

The simple fact of the matter is that YES, those ‘injuries’ were ‘faked’ and that YES any intelligent players and coaches are going to do that a FEW times during a game to slow things down in situations like that.

I would think much less of my HC if he didn’t do that (Actually, I’d think he was kind of STOOOPID)!

BIG DEAL.

Get over it (and join the 21st Century)!

by GeoMak on Nov 4, 2009 2:19 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

The simple fact of the matter is that YES, those ‘injuries’ were ‘faked’

That’s actually not fact. That’s called speculation. Unless you see quotes from those directly involved in the plays saying that they faked an injury, then saying those injuries were faked is merely speculation. Not fact.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

I assumed that the scare-quotes around the word “faked” meant that it meant fake-fake, which would be real.

by howtheyscored on Nov 4, 2009 4:07 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Look

Any reasonable person that follows the game knows they were ‘faked.’

Even Gary Plummer said so.

There’s no bigger Mike Singletary fan than myself.
And I’m intelligent enough and ‘honest’ enough to say what happened there.

How can there be so many ‘cramps.’ conveniently enough during a no-huddle drill, on a day in the midwest at the end of October?

No excessive heat. No excessive humidity.
Just common sense.

by GeoMak on Nov 4, 2009 4:08 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

It may very well be common sense, but that still doesn’t make it fact. It remains speculation.

I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

by JRPhillips on Nov 4, 2009 4:12 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Right

Like I said to BBS, you can’t call it cheating because it cannot be proven, unlike, say the use of steroids or pitchers throwing spitballs.

In cases like that, one can find tangible proof of those types of transgressions.

That said, anyone that doesn’t understand that those injuries were ‘faked’ doesn’t really understand the game of football.

by GeoMak on Nov 4, 2009 4:16 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

To throw in my 2 cents

I just joined Niners Nation today to blog about our upcoming contest and noticed that our old friend BBS was at it again.

Just wanted to let you all know that this douche has been doing this garbage as long as he has had a blog. It’s always passive-aggresive, backhanded compliment crap. He has never posted anything on another team’s blog that wasn’t there just to try to incite some garbage to bring traffic back to his own blog.

Just do what we do and ignore him. He will go away.

But looking forward to this weekend. I said over on Fooch’s post as MCM that I freaking love Mike Singletary’s attitude. Doesn’t seem like the kind of coach who would put on a division rival’s jersey “for charity.”

Official MCM Hater!

Is the home team technical crew responsible for providing the visitors with the technology regarding the in-helmet communication between the QB and OC. It seems that whenever that happens it is the visiting team that has technical problems?

Did the Colts have any communication problems or just the 49ers?

then the other communication has to be taken away from them. That’s league rules.

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Viz Media (The creators of my absolute favorite show of all-time and inspiration to my avatar, Naruto) just announced a partnership with the channel Disney XD to bring the English-dubbed episodes of Naruto Shippuden (The continuation of the Naruto series) to that station with a new episode airing each week, starting, well, NOW. No worries…. They’re notorious for choking in the playoffs. One lucky year doesn’t mean much at all. Manning has always been the stepchild to Tom Brady in the AFC. Besides, Manning’s number is almost up he’s getting up there in age. The they will be the same old sorry Colts of years past before we know it.

Let them have their one decade of glory providing only 1 SB. Our franchise had 2 decades that provided us with 5 SB’s.

if mannings time is running up thought then so is brady';s

he is only a year younger than manning pluse i dont think he is almost done i think he has at least another 5 years left and think with the injuries and such brady will be out first

He doesn't have another 5 "good" years left

Brady probably doesn’t either. But Brady certainly has more SB wins. Manning won’t catch up. I would take Brady over Manning in a New York minute. Brady had one injury cause a guy hit him low. Let’s see if Manning could survive a low blow like that. Doubt it. No QB could. So when you say

injuries
it’s actually just one injury.

Time is running out for the Colts. They will choke again like I said above and I will be laughing and enjoying every minute as they get crushed in the playoffs…. Hopefully by New England

well i dont see why you would think they couldn't play about 5 more good years.

there is nothing to support that. the reason i say brady is since his injury he has not been the same. an no no one could survive it unless they got lucky but what does that have to do with anything it is irrelivant if others would have survived it. also bignerd i dont know who for sure your refering to but if it is me get a clue i havent done anything. in your not talking about me you replied in the wrong place. and brady has had more than one injury in his career drew

He was talking to me

and the “idiot blogger” comment was directed toward the “idiot blogger” that created this FanPost so responded in the right spot.

I don’t have to back my opinion. However, when QB’s get older, they tend to slip in the things they could do in their prime. Prime is slowly sneaking away from Manning and Brady. As much as I hate the guy and hate to use him as a reference, Brady and Manning aren’t as tough as Brett Favre (he is a freak of nature).

by Drew K on Nov 5, 2009 12:05 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Favre is a freak. Considering the rule changes it’s likely these QB’s will stick around longer . . . probably has already extended Favre’s career. The NFL had to scrape Young and Aikman’s brains off the field for retirement, the great QB’s of these don’t have to worry about such a problem.

ok its all cool

i will say i personally think manning is as tough as farve. look he plays with injury just as much as farve and is just as consistant being out there. he is right behind farve for consecutive games started and actually holds the record for most games started from your rookie year. he hasn’t missed a start and only not taken two snaps since he first went behind center i say thats pretty tough as we know he has taken beatings. now you could be right i just dont thik thats the case.

I suggest we make BBS the first.

You mean you wanted to wait a couple days for us to cool down before ripping us again. Questions for the BigBlueMouth:

Is the visiting team’s technology crew responsible for providing the technology for the in-helmet communications between the QB and the coach? It seems that whenever that happens it is always to the visiting team’s equipment?

In the last game did the Colts have any trouble with their communications system or was that just the 49ers?

Kids meet after a game to shake hands and say “good game.” Adult players often do the same thing. But adult fans often choose to say mean things like “your team sucks,” or “your team was lucky.” or “your team cheats.”

BigBlueMouth: It is poor sportsmanship to cheat, but it is equally poor sportsmanship to make mean accusations without knowing who did what. If the two 49ers did fake an injury, I think, it is most probable that they did it on their own. Why blame Singletary with such harsh words when you DO NOT KNOW. Answer: Because you are a mean person and a Baby.

Obviously, he has issues with the rest of your division (so that’s 6 times a year). He’s had a problem this week, and he’ll certainly have an issue in two weeks (when you play the Pats). That’s half of your games. What about the other half?

He’ll certainly have problems with the New Yorkers. How did he handle things after the Miami game? Cards? Seahawks? Rams? Do you expect any fireworks with the Ravens, Broncos, or Bills fans?
