SB Nation has their mid-season studs and duds that the football site managers vote on. No 49ers won, but maybe Alex Smith finds himself up for comeback player of the year at the end. Anything's possible right?

Since the Rams game he is back to just tackle form. Our DC doesn't use his best weapon correctly.

Alex Smith would have to do great things to beat out Cedric Benson for comeback player of the year.
But then again, neither Smith nor Benson were really ever there in the NFL.
Other kids may be sayin' hi-ho, but The Gooch just says yo.
I thought Carson Palmer already had that award wrapped up.
