Chiefs release Larry Johnson
I don't expect the 49ers to sign him, but given the injury to Coffee yesterday, and the already thin RB position, it's certainly amusing to consider it.

I say et him and work him out
It costs us nothing to acquire him, so why not?

chances are he clears waivers
and yes, Sing is the guy who can handle LJ. Then again…Belichik could and they are thin at RB too.
given the words he used in interviews that led to his demise
i dont think SF would be the ideal place to play
exactly
speaking of which, anyone know what he actually said? All I’ve heard is “gay slur”

F -word
Which is certainly classless and immature, but since he didn’t use it toward a gay person but as a general insult (I think at the media) I think an apology, fake and agent-inspired as it was, should be enough. I think KC wanted to get rid of him for a number of other personal and perfromance reasons and this incident became the final straw and perfect excuse.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
yeah
not a good PR move
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
i say get him
because coffee is banged up and well I just don’t like robinson in there at rb.
"Of all the things in the world losing isn't so bad; it just starts to feel like it does when you do it for so long"
So what? We are trying to win games and Coffee has just gone down.
It would be worth a shot looking at him. He apologized for it and I don’t think he was making reference to any homosexuals.

I'd love to have LJ, personally.
You can never resist the game... nor could I... we're the same, so don't even try.
I'd prefer not to have a seemingly washed up RB
With baggage. We don’t need distractions and certainly no complainers influincing this young roster.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
LOL
Seemingly washed up? The Chiefs have more OL issues than the 49ers and have for a few years now, who’s to say what he has in the tank, it is still worth a look. Even if he is washed up he is a better option than Coffee.

He's washed up
Compare his stats to the rest of the Chiefs running backs. And I’m not sure you can be worse than the Niners O-line.

Plus the baggage of a moody player
No thanks. This team is still too young and trying to learn how to win. Why bring in a distraction that has always been a bit selfish and wasn’t good enough for a one win team.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
Absolutely no
He is no longer anywhere near being an effective running back, even as a backup. I’d MUCH rather see what even our third string RB can do, because we know what we have in this washed-up bum, and there’s at least potential with a younger RB in our system already.
STEVE HOLM! refuses to be the odd man out.
