49ers-Bears Monday Injury Report
The 49ers and Bears did not hold formal practices today, but due to the truncated schedule, they have provided an injury report based on what would likely have happened if there had been practice. Suffice to say, this is not a pretty practice report. The 49ers were beat up pretty badly yesterday and find themselves needing to turn around quickly to face the Bears this Thursday.
Glen Coffee is out and Michael Robinson is banged up, so I'd hope the team signs somebody today or tomorrow. Whomever they do sign (if anybody) will not have much time to learn the playbook and would really just be an emergency option this week. I'm not expecting a big name signing, but at this point any body is a good body.
I don't have the today's press conference transcript, but I'll post it here as soon as I get it.

I'm thinking we sign no one
We’d have to cut someone and with so many injuries, what position is not a bit thin? I think with the short week, Sing just goes with Gore and Norris, with a banged up Robinson as the backup. If all goes to crap, former H-Back Walker plays RB and we throw most every down. Then with ten days off after Thursday, we hope guys are well rested for GB.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.

Actually makes sense
Edge and Gore have the Miami connection, I don’t think it would be an ego battle. The question is why Edge would play for the 49ers knowing he could also be cut in 3 weeks.

Because he still wants a job
That’s the same reason any aging player wants to sign.

Yeah
and it is better than sitting on your butt watching the game from home, might as well get a sideline view lol

+100
been saying this since they released him. if for depth only. he’s smart, can help in pass protection, a viable pass receiver (all those years with manning and warner). think about it. shotgun 2 back look. gore slips out on a pass route, edge stays in for protection…lots of possibilities.

injury report
There was no practice today. This was projected if there had been practice. A lot of guys are limited that first day.

Hopefully Tommie Harris doesn't punch anyone this week

That got him ejected from that game
And I bet he’ll be suspended for at least one game. Maybe two.

You think so?
His being suspended would help. But since his ejection was on the first drive and he apologized, i wonder if Goodell will let it go with a fine.

I don't see how you can't suspend him
It was really bad.
