Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Steve Young is a complete mormon that has no clue about football whatsoever. How he ever played quarterback for the 49ers, won multiple playoff games and a Super bowl I'll never know. He especially has no business commenting on the 49ers current QB Alex Smith. Suggesting that Smith might need to practice to become a better NFL quarterback is just absurd! And he's not very smart!

(yes, this is a poor attempt at sarcasm)

You use that a lot

Are you sure what it means?

Yes, I'm sure Jerry Rice never dropped a single pass in his entire football career.

well

I’ve seen a lot of them today.

And yes, I’m quite sure what it means.

what do you think it means?

because this:

Suggesting that Smith might need to practice to become a better NFL quarterback is just absurd!

is a pretty textbook example.

Whatever Debate Class King
Steve Young was one of the best quarterbacks of all time. However, he is not a football God.

is a pretty textbook example.

not really

because while it’s true that no one directly said that Steve Young is a football god, they did definitely say that their assertation was true BECAUSE Steve seemed to agree.

Steve Young is right in a sense

In order for the 49ers to be succesful, they are going to need to have the QB (whether its Smith or anyone else) play under center at least part of the time. What he isn’t saying is that part of the reason for the lack of success for Smith under Center is the horrible play of the O line. All I can say is our first pick better be used on O line.

alex smith sucks

Alex Smith was allowed to pass more on 1st down and was put in the Shotgun.. More time to throw, and less pressure, because we used run on 1st and 2nd down then pass on 3rd down. The defense is in pass formation on 3rd downs. Shaun Hill had way to much pressure because of this.

Suggestion:

Put some of your energy into supporting the 49ers who are currently ON the field, instead of demanding that they be benched. A little complaining by fans is normal, but your incessant demands will go no where.

um pretty much every player in the NFL needs practice to become a better player

that’s kind of the point of teams holding those practices all of the time.

Funny thing is

Drew Brees still works out when no one from the team is their and he throws the ball to an empty space on the field. I would call that practice, so how the hell does Smith not need practice? When was the last time Alex Smith played an entire season.

That was funny

Gruden said that when Payton asked Brees who was winning, Brees said: “We are, [insert score]”

Maybe sarcasm was used to make a point

Steve Young was clear:
“A franchise NFL QB has to be proficient from under center.”

Some ‘strawmen’ twisted that simple argument to:
“Steve Young doesn’t know what he’s talking about. That may have been true back in the day, but…etc.”

Someone even went as far as to say:
“HE DOES NOT NEED TO LEARN ANYTHING….he already knows.”

Yes, I'm sure Jerry Rice never dropped a single pass in his entire football career.
