Should we go back in time
and look at every player the team “should’ve” drafted? who should the 49ers have taken over:
Reggie McGrew, Mike Rumph, Rashaun Woods, etc?
So the team missed out on DeSean Jackson, it happens. Let’s not cry about it. DJWOF!!!!
Alex Smith may have been the #1 overall pick but he still can’t tell why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

to be fair
when I was watching the Sunday night game last night, I was thinking the same thing. Especially considering how awful our punt return game has been.
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
Best
Will we get the same people crying if the 49ers don’t draft Jahvid Best?
Hindsight is always 20/20.
True
But, it wasn’t like the 49ers didn’t know about Jackson’s speed and his ability for the big play, not too mention that his hands are extremely underrated.
How many other teams...
… passed on Jackson? The guy was under six foot ball and not even 180 pounds at the combine, if I recall properly. That’s not just small, it’s suicidal in the NFL.

Wow, cheap shot
I forgot the big anti-Cal player movement 49ers fans have. Jackson wasn’t on anyone’s radar . . .
The sentiment was to draft the Cal player on two occasions, the team didn’t, and fans still believe the team was wrong.
cal
I’m a Cal fan and definitely see the potential in Best. I just think people sometimes over-inflate their local talent (wherever they’re at) and then go crazy when the local team doesn’t draft a particular guy from that school.
