The 49ers have to score
On this possession! If not this game is probably over, with a Cardinals win!
this is looking like old alex
no good…prove me wrong alex, prove me wrong
is it me or...
are VD’s hands better the more difficult the catch is?

He still didn't catch that last one cleanly - stopped it with his hands and juggled it into his lap.

maybe rlott42 and 49erlife will be quiet for a bit now. Hard to troll when Smith does well. Might actually have to come up with something creative.

Because it's always Smith's fault...
Jesus. If you want to see bad QB play look at how Warner is performing. The 49ers O-Line doesn’t have an answer for Dockett and it’s giving Smith headaches.
Oh please
Smith has been AWFUL, and I’m not usually someone to rag on him too much. He’s had lots of time on plenty of dropbacks, he’s missed at least 7-8 throws.

This is the same team the 49ers saw first game.
A stupid Cardinal team.
Well, we're waiting....
I can’t deny the talent on that team, but my god, the Cardinals are easily the dumbest team I’ve seen play. Every time they play us, they seem to set a new record for penalties

Yeah...
He’s looked a bit jumpy. He’s throwing balls that look like they are a little too hot and he’s been leading his receivers a little too much. But, those are all correctable.
On the other side of that coin, he’s also been making very good reads and protecting the ball.

I've always wished...
Radio announcers could be mapped to video. They do a much better job of describing what’s happening on the field. Especially what you can’t see on the tighter shots.
They’re supposed to, though. Radio guys are supposed to tell you what’s happening. TV guys aren’t supposed to do that because, theoretically, you can actually see it.

Hey Danny, did you hear my ideas on broadcaster stats?
I don't know about that, to the groin.
by howtheyscored on Dec 14, 2009 7:53 PM PST up reply actions
nope...
was it something about tracking “number of sexual innuendos?”
by (Florida) Danny Tuccitto on Dec 14, 2009 7:54 PM PST up reply actions
That’s pretty much exactly what it was.
I don't know about that, to the groin.
by howtheyscored on Dec 14, 2009 7:55 PM PST up reply actions
If it involves Howie, anything has to be about sexual innuendos.

If it helps, I think that broadcaster sexual innuendos were one of the keys to the game in a fairly early draft of Mike Singletary’s keys to the game. He crossed it off later when he thought of ball security.
I don't know about that, to the groin.
by howtheyscored on Dec 14, 2009 7:56 PM PST up reply actions
i wouldn't be surprised...
if “total penetration in the gaps” was on the 1st draft as well
by (Florida) Danny Tuccitto on Dec 14, 2009 7:58 PM PST up reply actions
I heard that Greg Manusky suggested “come on their faces” but Singletary didn’t think it fit with his overall philosophy.
I don't know about that, to the groin.

If you think you have a knee sprain, report it. Don’t let yourself or any of the other players play with a knee sprain. In fact, don’t ever play again. You might die. We’re serious.
Sincerely, the NFL.

Okay...
Jimmy Raye should attempt to avoid being stupid aggressive, but he can’t get too conservative. They need to toss the ball.
I'd like to see some pitches and sweeps
we don’t do nearly enough.
Maybe the old end around to Walker
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Then you get a pick 6 and call him an idiot!

Blk Sand Ninja-
That's been the 49ers problem
getting too conservative with leads in the second half instead of going for the throat.

that INT both sucked and ruled
ruled because I just took the lead in my fantasy matchup thanks to it, bad because I really want the Niners to win
"The Football The 49ers Team has The excitement of the bear, the velocity of the deer and strenght of the buffalo.
Okay... I just rewatched that INT on TiVo...
Delanie Walker allowed the (didn’t catch the Cardinal’s number) to basically swing around in front of him and steal the pass. That looked like poor route running to me.
Yeah... Just rewatched it again...
Delanie Walker let Wilson get inside of him after the ball was thrown. The 49ers have to figure out how to unclog these underneath routes or that’s going to happen again.

I would argue it was just a matter of time before Smith’s poor accurac and decisionmaking in this game was a ticking time bomb and thus the ball should be ept out of his hands whenever possible.

"It came down like a punt, Coach!" - Josh Morgan
REJECTED.
I don’t think it’s the Cardinals’ mistakes. It’s obviously the 9ers defense. The defense causes mistakes.

Josh Morgan is the disappointment of the season, imo.
I was so excited to see what he’d do with a healthy year of starting…the answer, I’ve found, is “not very much”.

A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
