New stadium seating priority - ugh!
I got a call from my "season ticket account manager" yesterday, asking if I wanted help with anything. I know they've been pushing this relationship thing this year, but seriously, what help is there to give? I asked her that, "What sort of requests do you get?" She didn't have much.
But I did ask her how seating priority would be handled if there's a new stadium. She said that since there's a new configuration, the seat locations don't map so clearly, so they plan to let everyone pick in order of seniority.
Frankly, I do not like that answer. We bought our seats on the open market, paying a pretty penny for location. Now I'll have to get in line behind someone who's had to work his way up from the end zone.
I realize that any solution isn't going to make everyone happy, but naturally I prefer those that favor me.

seats
Given that it’s a new stadium with a different seating structure, going by who’s had tickets the longest really does make the most sense. One thing to keep in mind is that given that prices will likely increase with a new stadium, some of those people who’ve had season tickets forever might not want to purchase some of the better seats at higher end prices.
It certainly seems unfair to you specifically, but given the head-ache it probably will be re-seating all these season ticket holders, seniority makes the most sense. Gotta reward financial loyalty.

Game day ticket prices are just the beginning
If they charge for the “privilege” of buying season tickets, then look out. The personal seat license fees that the fans of the Jets/Giants had to pony up were insane. I don’t know if that is being considered with this stadium, but they will try to get every dollar they can get.

I think...
… seat licenses are a part of the new stadium, at least maybe for some sections? I think it’s one of the things Dwight Clark is responsible for, now.

seat licenses
Yes they’re going to be used. Back in June I had a chance to interview Jed York and he talked about them (and it’s also mentioned in the financing plan). This is part of an answer in response to a question about the issues the Cowboys have had with getting a naming rights deal done:
But I think, as a follow-up question, if there’s no naming rights market, if people don’t want to buy stadium builders’ licenses, then this deal doesn’t move forward. It’s that simple.
Stadium builders’ licenses are basically PSLs under a different name.

I expect they will charge PSL's
It does suck. Frankly, the best case scenario for me is that all alternatives fail and they just keep going at Candlestick. I’d be fine with it.

Ugh... Just ugh...
I’ve always enjoyed the thought of having to pay for the privilege to have a seat and then having to pay for the seat. If they do this, they are going to price a lot of long term fans out of the stadium.

That was supposed to be a reply to Fooch...
My browser dumped my cookies or something, dumped me out of the site and when I logged back in to post, it um… didn’t go where it was supposed to.
