December 20, 2009
Time:
1:15pm PST
Location: Lincoln Financial Field, San Francisco, CA
Records: 49ers (6-7) Eagles (9-4)
Bodoglife.com Spread: Eagles -7.5; Over/Under 41; Money Line: 49ers +290, Eagles -380 - This line was going up at first, but dropped 2 full points.  I'm thinking the snow is considered somewhat of an equalizer.  I think the under is probably a safe bet for now.

Radio: 107.7 The Bone, 680/1050 KNBR - Ted Robinson, Gary Plummer, Rod Brooks
Spanish Radio

Eagles Coverage:
Bleeding Green Nation

Week 15 Prediction Contest: Remember that if you didn't get in your 49ers prediction you can use the wildcard game on Sunday.

Sports Bar Thread

Injuries
49ers
: Out - CB Nate Clements (shoulder); Doubtful - WR Isaac Bruce (ankle); Questionable - T Barry Sims (knee), TE Delanie Walker (ankle); Probable - LB Ahmad Brooks (foot), S Dashon Goldson (chest), RB Frank Gore (toe), CB Marcus Hudson (back), FB Moran Norris (toe), RB Michael Robinson (shoulder), T Joe Staley (knee), LB Takeo Spikes (hamstring)

Eagles: Out - WR Jeremy Maclin (foot), RB Brian Westbrook (concussion); Questionable - TE Brent Celek (back, thumb); Probable - DE Victor Abiamiri (knee), WR Jason Avant (hamstring), C Nick Cole (knee), DE Trent Cole (hamstring), WR Kevin Curtis (knee), LB Akeem Jordan (knee), DT Mike Patterson (wrist), RB Leonard Weaver (hamstring)

The 49ers continue their proverbial "last stand" in an attempt to get back into the playoff picture.  While the 49ers still need a lot of help, a win over the Eagles would certainly be a step in the right direction.  While the team will need to step up on the field, they might have been given a rare gift with the kickoff time being pushed back 3 hours.  The 49ers have struggled mightily when they are on the east coast kicking off at 10am pacific.  The snow storm coming to town has moved them back to their favored west coast start time.  I don't know if it'll be enough to overcome a strong Philly squad, but the 49ers will take any break they can get, right?

I'll be staying out of the game thread again this week.  I realize it's an irrational belief in karma, but if it helps the 49ers win, I'll take it.  The second game thread will post at 2:00pm and the third game thread will post at 3:15pm.  I'll have the recap post shortly after the game.

GO NINERS!

Can’t have a better opportunity than what they had there

by PiKAgiant on Dec 20, 2009 2:05 PM PST reply actions

just so we're all on the same page here...

COACHES produce game plan to throw to their TEs every play because PHI is bad against TEs.

PLAYERS commit repeated execution fails.

this is why “Execute” is on the formula for success, guys, and why it’s ridiculous to always blame the bad stuff on the coaches (or alex smith) for that matter.

by (Florida) Danny Tuccitto on Dec 20, 2009 2:06 PM PST reply actions

Are the refs serious?

The PI on Lewis at the beginning of the drive was wrong and that final penalty (which I know wouldn’t matter) was ticky tack. Come on man…

You gotta bring ass to get ass.

What was Alex looking at

That was into double coverage

Rays in '08.... Desmond Jennings - the breakout continues.....
