49ers-Eagles Game Thread #3
Change of plans. My absence is doing nothing to help so I'm opening up game thread #3 earlier, and heading into the game thread. It may not make a difference but it's been ugly enough. Let's mix things up.

yay fooch karma!
"The Football The 49ers Team has The excitement of the bear, the velocity of the deer and strenght of the buffalo.
Three things that HAVE to be fixed during halftime.
1) The O-Line: The Titanic’s hull did a better job keeping water out. Philly getting pressure with only three or four which is just pathetic.
2) Alex Smith’s Decision Making – Not helped by the O-Line’s inability to protect, but he needs to start making better decisions
3) Offensive Play Calling – Try some play action. Try some screens. Get the ball to Crabtree, Morgan and Hill. Raye has to stop fixating on the TE’s who are doubled up in coverage.

it gets
awfully problematic when you try to compare 2 players from different times. Stats can prove just about anything- the 49ers were 3-1 without Smith. Does that mean that the 49ers are a much worse team with Smith? Stats do not take into account a number of intangible factors.

when you're down 10
after 20 minutes of game time, you kind of move towards the pass…esp when the defense is proving they can’t stop PHI if their lives depended on it.

It was the same thing that inexplicably almost cost them the game on Monday. If the run is going much much MUCH better than the pass, you don’t put the offense on the back of the pass. That’s silliness.

I asked twice with no response, but since you seem to think Smith is the next young, please answer this…
What do you see in him? I have not understood it. Everyone jumped on the bandwagon so fast cause he could throw down the field. But I haven’t seem him do anything great. Just better than our other crappy QBs. Please explain to me why you think he is good and not just the best of our crappy options.
Steve Young thinks he has a chance to be.

So that makes it so?
Young also said he easily adjusted to under center and the Smith is struggling with it.
You are not arguing with me here. You are are arguing with Steve Young. Go ask him.
