Bowl Games Gameday Thread: Tuesday, December 29th, 2009
There are two bowl games on the venue for today.
The first of the two games is The Eagle Bank Bowl that will be played between the (6-6, 3-6) UCLA Bruins against the (9-3, 7-1) Temple Owls. The Bruins finished their season 8th in the Pac 10 and the Owls finished in 2nd place in the MAC East. This game has all the ingredients to potentially be a shoot-out.
The second of the two games in The Champs Sports Bowl and this game will be played between the # 15 ranked (9-3, 5-3) Miami Hurricanes against the # 25 ranked (9-3, 5-3) Wisconsin Badgers. The Hurricanes finished the season 3rd in the ACC-Coastal Division while the Badgers finished the year 4th overall in the Big-Ten. Finally.
Watching this Brian Price kid now. Guess he hasn’t declared huh? Think he’ll do it after this game if he performs strong?
He seems to be perfect size for 3-4 DE (replacing Sopoaga). 22.5 TFL’s this season?!?!
"Vernon is going to be a great tight end one day, but he's got to put the whole package together." - Thanks Sing for echoing this.
I dont think he has yet
Alot of the players wait until all the bowl games are over to declare. And yes, he could be a good fit in a 3-4 defense
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
any projections
on where he would go should he declare?

Some people are saying as high as the 2nd round
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
It depends on alot
mostly what the bottom feeder teams are picking high. The playoff teams, most of them anyway, probably wont be needing defensive line
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
does he have character questions?
because at one point Greise said “he decided to play on this series”

mike leach
man has he opened a can of whoopass for himself in texas or what? I wonder if crabs saw any of that stuff going on?
I wonder if Crabs ever had to stand in the electrical closet for 3 hours

He has a fat girlfriend?
haha

Heard a Leach presser...
Today on CNN, where he was talking about how the players listen to their fat girlfriends because the fat girlfriend will tell them what they want to hear because they are fat. Or something like that.
Well, we're waiting....
haven't heard Price's name called much
but then again usually that means a DT is doing their job, clogging up lanes.

Yeah they aren't doing the best
Still have these Pac 10 teams left:
- 20 Arizona Wildcats vs # 22 Nebraska Cornhuskers
OU Sooners vs # 21 Stanford - 8 Ohio State Buckeyes vs # 7 Oregon Ducks

this could be 0-3 easily the way these games have been going this bowl season

stanford/ou i'm hoping will be a grat game. suh vs. gerhardt . shock heard round the world.
by srill waiting on Dec 29, 2009 3:10 PM PST up reply actions
I am an OU fan but I like Gerhart
I think what you meant to say is McCoy vs. Gerhart. OU defense is pretty solid and Stanford’s QB Luck is most likely going to be out, Harbaugh has said Luck will suit up but fifth-year senior Tavita Pritchard will start. So I am not sure if Gerhart will be able to do it all by himself against the Sooners front 7

Their kick returner is pretty decent

I am more anxious to see the next game. Should be a good one between 2 ranked teams. Jacory Harris is going to be a stud in the NFL when he is eligible

he’s got legs too. how many rushing td’s does he have?

1 rushing TD and 3 total in his career
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
UCLA with the upset special
Temple waits 30 years to get to a bowl game and loses it. Bernard Pierce going out really hurt them

Anyone else keeping an eye on the TE's in these games?
Sorry I’m late LOL

Dedrick Epps
is going to be a good mid to late round guy. Good blocking and can catch relatively well
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
Graham
is pretty good too
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
Yeah I think Epps might go too hiigh
for us to be interested in but Graham might be a good look for 5th or 6th.

Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?

Miami better wake up on offense if they don't want it to be a blowout
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
Neither TE showing much today yet
What’s your thought on Graham?
by ChesapeakeBay9er on Dec 29, 2009 5:46 PM PST reply actions
To be honest, I haven’t seen him play an entire game. Other than a few highlights here and there, I don’t really have enough to go off of to give you my thoughts on him. Hopefully he will do a few things here in this game so we can better see what he is bringning
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
I hope Smith is listening to this game! LOL
The guy just noted how a play fake can make the D bite and give you a player downfield. He doesn’t seem to know how to do that.
by ChesapeakeBay9er on Dec 29, 2009 5:58 PM PST reply actions
Well we saw something from Graham LOL
The first end around sucked the second faked one worked nice and Graham made up for it.

Liking this Kendrick kid
the O Lineman some good blocks happening from him.
And Clay is looking pretty sweet.

Jacory Harris
needs to get rid of the mohawk. It makes me think of Jamarcus Russell
Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?
Another Graham at TE
Jimmy Graham.
Just saw this on the Draft page on ESPN: http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=nfl_draft it’s about some of the players to watch in here.

this is why we need a legitimate returner
it would suck to see morgan like this
Looks like Badgers have this
wrapped up

Brian Price Declared
Interesting to see where he’s projected in the weeks to come. Wouldn’t mind having a guy at his size to come in and learn from Sopoaga, eventually take over. Is he a 3-down DT you think?
"Vernon is going to be a great tight end one day, but he's got to put the whole package together." - Thanks Sing for echoing this.
and I mean if we can get him in the second.

and assuming we trade down a 1st
to get two seconds…
